Shut down all recruiting sites and tell grown men who have nothing to do with actual recruiting to get a life. Go golfing, love your missus, play with your kids, overhaul your engine, rewatch the championship game over and over. Just quit obsessing over 18 yr old kids.

Recruiting is already “fixed.”
Just ask Kirby.
Just ask Kirby.

That’s easy , YOU should find something better to do with your life and when LSU announces which recruits they have signed go on YouTube and check out their highlights

Unless it's your team contending every year. If we had been in Bamas shoes the last 10 years or Clemsons current would you want parity? I wouldn't. There's a reason there's haves and have nots. LSU sustains itself as a program and therefore deserves all the spoils it can get.
There is no fix. As long as their are people dedicating their lives and careers to following around hs kids it will be this way. It's only gonna get worse.
Only true fix would be to take the decisions out of the kids hands and I don't agree with that at all. It is their life. That would be like someone coming into our lives and dictating our personal choices. No thank you

I would start by filling the class

Well, we’re stuck with Clemson vs the world until something changes.

The amount of attention given many of you give to 17-18 yr old boys is creepy.

Limit the number of players to 20 each year, no more, no hold backs. Have 2 signing periods and 24 hours to sign and if not signed during these two periods then cannot get a scholarship until the next year.

Zoom out for a second and think about who is being inconvenienced. It's the small segment of fans that follow recruiting closely. Also, recruiting involves 17-19 year old humans that have to make a life changing decision with a bunch of adult family and coaches are constantly talking about this decision.

Make the top player at each position sign with LSU
Right! If Burch had signed with LSU there would be know problem.
After all the shenanigans, I'm glad he didn't.
I believe Coach O realized early, after the last visit, what the Burches were doing.

Don't think you and I agree on what is broke. What about the Burch thing needs changing as far as recruiting rules? What needs to change as far as flips?
The main problem is paying players but there is not a realilistic way to fix that. Most schools do it. The schools with the top recruiting classes do it better than the others. Look at the 20 year history of LSU's recruiting rankings and understand this would impact us in a big way. It would be interesting to see how the chips fall if there was recruiting without payments. Probably too much talk about something that will never happen. At least we are in the haves be have-nots in the current world.

Get rid of verbal commitments and allow kids to sign LOI beginning on day 1 of their senior year up until NSD.
It would stop coaches from giving out "uncommitable offers" and stop flipping from school to school. Once a kid signs the LOI his recruitment is done, benefits both sides.

Make it professional
Eliminate all signing ceremonies and hat switches and force professionalism on the process-
That won’t happen. Too many will scream that they have the right to act like fools- and I agree. They do act like fools.
So it won’t change- Burch went where wanted to go and he will be happy. We had good players commit when we were a dumpster: Faulk - booger - scal has a great fan base that is starved for success- they’ll get it going.

There has been a remarkable fix that got put in a few years ago...one that myself and others had been wanting for decadeS. That is the early signing period like all other sports already have. Here are the reasons it has worked:
1) if Dec rolls around and the "committed kid" doesn't sign, he isn't really committed at all (exception below)
2) if Dec rolls around and the committed kid isn't allowed to sign by the college coach, he doesn't consider you unconditionally worth a scholarship
3) the exception to 1) is both sides are sincere but the kid's academics/test score are in ? Lorando Johnson, C Johnson, etc
To prove how well the early signing period is working, you have little Nicky Saban against it...geez, no "processing" any more? Feel sorry for you, Bud!

How would you fix recruiting?
I must ask how would you fix it? Let me help you with a few facts.
First, everyone has "Burch" type drama every year. its just part of the system.
Also, it didn't just start. My Dr. was a national recruit who was offered by Darrell Royal in '62 who told him he was installing a new offense, the wishbone, and he was just the QB who could run it.
He committed but when coach Mac heard about it he and his family put on the pressure to go to LSU. And I will let you figure out what the "pressure" was!!
So, it is and has always been, a part of the system and the only way to stop it is to stop any college sport.

How can you stop verbal commitments?
