It is sort of amusing to see how individuals who disguise themselves with user names will argue and argue over being more correct than other individuals who disguise themselves with user names.

Some folks arguing about the Jack position, listen to Matt House!

Dude they are practicing Womack at edge. He is 6’4” 240. That is ideal edge size. Like if you made an edge prototype that would pretty much be the exact size you would make him.

According to Womack’s Twitter, he’s 6’5 265 at 18 years old. LSU says he’s 6’5 260.

Quit looking at his 247 profile and look at him with your own eyes. He’s got a perfect build for a SDE. Kelly and House have both said they “will move him around”. As his body matures, he’s going to just get bigger.

I’m not sure why some people are personally offended by the idea that Womack and Wiggins are not 3-4 edge rushers…. I’m missing the part where people are saying that they suck and shouldn’t be on the roster.

Wiggins might even grow into a freak DT like Maason, but with the
versatility to play 3 positions along the defensive line.

The athleticism from a man that big is exceptionally rare.

Jaxon Howard will be a 3 down Jack that can also play DR. Womack will play both.

Having guys that cam line up at multiple positions is a good thing. To have the ability to stunt and disguise the pass rush is a tactical advantage.

Matt likes to move folks around, depends on down and distance. Remember that last year, Perkins lined up all over. Whom ever the QB is, he better locate Perkins. Much of the same was done with the Honey Badger and Devin White. Right now, House is looking at guys that have speed, to get to the QB, like I said, down and distance.

What he has returning and what he has coming in, he’s never had a college defense with this much speed and talent. Matt is in his element. This is him telling why the return to college. He could have stayed with the Chiefs, but he wanted more. Matt talking about his return to college.

House return to college.

Well I worked on staff with the LSU football team for 6 seasons. He is much more thin and compact than a SDE. He is an ideal edge player. He’s quick twitch with a compact build for speed to power that can also drop back if need be on certain disguise plays.

You probably don’t want to know that Von Miller is 6’3” 255-260.
So 6’5” 265 isn’t much different of a build.

I think there's another part of BK's approach that is particularly good.

There are really only two kinds of recruits out there these day. There are recruits you buy and there are recruits that are buying in. The recruits you buy don't really care what team they go to, they only care about getting the best deal they can. These recruits are bound to be driven by their own egos rather than team players, and there's not bound to be much loyalty either. The minute someone else offers them a bigger better deal, they are off to the transfer portal. They are also more likely to get in off-the-field trouble. On the other hand, you've got the players that buy in to your program. Sure, they are still getting NIL money, but they are signing with the team they want to play for even though other schools are paying more money. These are much more likely to be team players and have a sense of loyalty.

In my opinion, a 4-star that buys in is more valuable to your program than a 5-star you have to buy. We've seen A&M try to buy themselves a team, and it just doesn't work. Now Texas and FSU are trying to do the same thing. I don't think it's going to work like they are expecting. BK on the other hand is making sure we get players that buy in. Others are offering more, but these guys want to be Tigers. They are going to work together to make LSU the best it can be. These are the guys who are going to run through a wall if that's what it takes for LSU to win. You may have noted that we've hardly had any discipline issues since BK arrived. That's because the players don't want to let down the team.

It doesn't matter if our class is top 5 or top 10. All our players are focused on making LSU a championship team. And our recruiting classes are going to improve as Kelly has more time to develop relationships with players. He's only been at LSU for a year and half or so, and these relationships are often built over years. Kelly is making a machine, and we need to just enjoy the ride.

Sorry for the long post.

It’s still a problem, because Jordan Jefferson is a senior.
