He reportedly has a 25 on his ACT, not bad for an SEC athlete but he wouldn't sniff Harvard if all things were equal.
Possibly. The Ivies use an Academic Index which is calculated by using the ACT/SAT score and class rank or GPA.

If one scores under about a 33, it would be a real struggle to make the grades to be able to stay on scholarship and be able to suit up to play at Harvard.
You are looking at this completely wrong. If one is admitted into such a school do you really believe they would allow a kid to fail? Of course not because that would be a reflection on the whole process. That being said, there is no clause for "making grades" to suit up. You can quit the team and lose absolutely nothing because nothing was ever given.

Jason Garrett went to Princeton. Not Harvard but similar. Successful pro QB and coach.

25 on the ACT is solid but I doubt it would get you into Harvard no matter what else you had on the resume
I could be wrong, but I'd have to assume most of these kids are in the 30s on the ACT

I didn't know Harvard only offered academic scholarships. Thanks

So you don't think a person with a degree from Harvard is going to have the upper hand in finding a good job versus someone with a degree from LSU?

This is quite possibly the dumbest comment I've ever seen on any of the TD family of message boards. And I've spent a lot of time poking around the SECr.
You said something dumber than the worst Arkansas poster. Think about that for a moment.

We have some pretty low level conservative types around here. It's shameful.
A degree from Harvard opens a lot of doors that most degrees won't open. It doesn't guarantee success but I doubt there are a lot of failures out there with Harvard degrees.

I wasn't saying it would get you in but it doesn't disqualify you either. If your AI is not between 176-240 that would disqualify you. Kids who score perfect with a 4.0 are not accepted. There are always exceptions though. I'm hoping my son is one because of baseball.

--------------------------------------------------- It really depends what they study at Harvard. For a Harvard alum, its going to depend on whether or not it is good for the bottom line of the company. Having the former star QB in one's employ doesn't mean the same thing as the Fortune 500 or Forbes rating of the firm.
Just like at any other University, there are some majors at Harvard which destine a student for a future in academia [or elsewhere]. If a student gets a degree in anthropology, classics, comparative literature, East Asian studies, folklore and mythology, history and literature, linguistics, music, comparative study of religion, romance languages and literatures, or theatre and dance [all available Harvard Academic Concentrations], its going to be tough for a Harvard alum to land them a high paying job at their Wall Street firm.
