Recruiting is more about filling needs and having a competent coaching staff that can coach them then having some ranking beside your team.

With that said, House has to go and we never really did get to see what Lindsey could do with what was supposed to be our most talented part of the defense. We have to go after a big name DC in college football and try to allure some of their commits as well, otherwise we are in the same scenario next year with an above average Offense and a horrible defense. Maybe, just maybe we might get some players out of the portal this off season that can help, but that's a huge maybe.

If we hire a new DC...and players are excited about the hire How many can we sign? This class seems like it lacks "needs"

It’s unlikely that a new hire fixes this class. Maybe they help turn a flip or bring a recruit over with them, but it’s about finishing the best possible and addressing in the portal for this year. A new staff helps us fix the next class.

Some of you seem to prefer fantasy to reality, but this is reality.

Lol you are so stupid

We should expect excellence regardless of their salary. Whether Kelly makes $5 mil or $10 mil, the expectations should be the same. That's why it's irrelevant.

If there was a direct correlation of salary to success, we should just pay him $50 mil per year. But there isn't.

I don't give a shite how much Kelly makes. I expect championships.

Yeah, one of the things most overlooked are the losses and misses from a class. What looks good about a class initially may change over time from transferring out, players not contributing, injuries and more.
which is why I laugh at people here or on the rant that say Kelly is recruiting terrible. He’s had 1 full class of his own and the class he kept together when he was hired. give each class 2-3 years before you make an assumption if it’s a bad class or not. Orgeron last two classes were top 5 by websites but only 13 players combined from both classes actually made any sort of impact for LSU which is why Kelly is in the depth situation he’s in now. If any of these websites ranking guys actually knew how to evaluate players don’t you think colleges teams would already hire them to be on their staff?

As many as they want as long as the total scholarships are 85 or less.

That’s why roster management is so important. Depends on our transfers, if any, walk ons given scholarships, draft declarations, players who have no more eligibility, etc.
You need to know all that or at least have a good idea in order to know for sure. Without being in the building with those making the decisions, everything is really a guess other than those players whose eligibility has expired.

This is why I’d like to see them go back and rank classes down the line. Take out the ones that never made it to campus and rerank. It would be more indicative of the real rank of a class and an interesting exercise

I can’t tell if you’re a troll or genuinely this stupid?

The expectation is always higher when you’re paid more. Nobody is saying just because you’re paid more that you’ll be better, but goddamn you better perform if you’re getting that money. Maybe you’re a government employee? In the real world, you continually make more money as you succeed, and the bar is continually set higher. This holds true regardless of situation. BK has done a solid job with turning lsu around. Now it’s time to take the next step. Yes, his salary holds him to an even higher standard

You miss the 15th ranked class in 2012, per On3?

Is On3 retroactively ranking classes from before they existed?
