For those of you wondering how Bama, Clemson, osu, Georgia do it in recruiting.

It's obviously a mixture of things like bag men, playing time, but also more of program stability knowing those coaches aren't going anywhere anytime soon. Outside of Dabo the rest are all coordinators as well so defensive and offensive players know they get long term value out of the commitment.

There was a point like 10-12 years ago where it maybe looked like LSU could go toe to toe with them & Les miles crashed that, and Saban jumped into a totally different stratosphere

You’ll live easier knowing no one is on Bama’s level. I cringe every time LSU is compared to them

The hard part to understand is how it always happens on signing day. Guys will be committed for months or even years then flip on signing day.

Saban is the ultimate recruiter who understands the psychology of persuading 18-year old kids. He sells them on THE PROCESS - staying 4-5 years, winning multiple championships and achieving their goal of playing on Sundays. Can't argue with his proven track record. This is what the kids see when they are recruited and meet in Saban's office. Rings are everywhere and he tells kids to put them on... "do you want to win 4 rings, or go elsewhere and possibly never win a NC ? " The REC makes sure these kids are well taken care of.

notice the football which is ALWAYS displayed when recruiting kids from Louisiana or considering LSU

There ya have it. The consistent opportunity to win the SEC and play for everything is just too much to pass up for the blue chips.

They sign them to contracts, heavy incentives up front. With 4 years guaranteed or no dice.

Is bama selling these recruits that Saban will be there until he literally dies on the field? I understand wanting to play for a winning program, but there's more than one winning program out there.

No

I posted this earlier, he builds around the OL/DL. Take a look at LSU OL recruits I. Sabans first 2 full recruiting classes.

2001
OC 5star #1
OG 5star #1
OC 4star #3
3 OL not rated by 24/7...assume 3star

2002
OG 4star #8
OT 4star #22
OG 3star #22
3 OT 3 star

12 OL in first 2 years. Now vs his class this year?

2020
OT 5star #1
OT 5star #1
OC 4star #1
OG 4star #2

Saban has a focused recruiting strategy on OL. That’s the most important position on the field to building and maintaining a winning program. Recruit/evaluate and develop (process who you miss on)at a high level, then build around it. You can sign all the 5 star skill positions you want, which looks good on recruiting rankings, but if the OL is mediocre...you miss in evaluating, you won’t have or maintain an winning program.

You get the OL and DL in order, the rest falls in place.

With all the Bama players in NFL do you really think Odell Beckham is the only one doling out cash for current players.
Come on.
All those players return in the offseason and work out.
It's a fraternity and I'm sure they give them all kinds of perks.

Lack of control over weed and firearms is the most obvious answer to your question.

LSU acts like it's a crime if your caught with illegal guns and drugs, at Bama it's just a normal Tuesday night.

That's on O, Woodward and the admin to fix.

No excuse our weed rules literally and I mean literally frick us each year and every other sec school never has to worry about suspensions like that.

I would think Nick simply puts on all his Natty Rings and proceeds to relay the fact that every four year player he's had has one won a championship

It's a pretty shitty thing to pretend like you're all LSU when you've secretly been committed elsewhere. This happens every year with LSU as there are those 1-2 dick recruits that play this stupid game. I don't like to be spiteful, but I hope his career ends up like Hootie Jones and Tony Brown.

OSU is on their level recruiting-wise but not results on the field. No one is there.

All Les needed to do was let a young innovative coordinator run the O and he could have been a legend. Couldn't get out of his own way
