Red,if LSU were to land both will it have any affect on the other safety commits?

no...we are so thin at the position, they would all be on the 2 deep next year

So wouldn't Bama also be legally bound since he signed papers with both?
Does signing with two create a loophole in the process, and finalization with the legality of his signature? In other words is he still bound to one, but not the other?

Both schools are bound to honor his scholarship
In other words, he can choose to go to Bama or LSU and they have to accept him. Bama can't "cool" on him.

Yes. Which makes the "Bama processed him" story bullshite as well

I believe whichever school he enrolls in is bound to provide him at least one year of scholarship. Once he officially attends a school (say LSU) his other offer (in that case Bama) becomes void.
It's just a way to protect kids that commit early from getting processed, and at the same time offering the schools some benefit for the risk, i.e. unlimited contact.

hootie is not legally bound but the schools are...signing these papers allows unlimited contact between the staff and the recruit

I do believe LSU will take Hootie without any doubt but this legally bound talk only matters if a recruit wants to go to a school that doesn't want him. ie. if a school shows no interest in the recruit (processed) then the recruit will DECIDE to look elsewhere making the legally bound augument null and void. most high profile recruits won't go where they feel they are not wanted.

Ponamsky is lying is arse off: "Hootie has not talked to anyone at LSU."
I was told last week he was contacting Frank asking if LSU might still have room for him.

my only question is if they are legally bound to an athletic scholarship or if they are only bound to a financial scholarship, thus not guaranteeing him a spot on the team.

well, technically yes...but in this case, a 5 star safety, that would not happen

I don't know DP's track record, but I'll go with Sonny's information about recruiting every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
