don't try and bring facts and number into this

I would much rather post based off my irrational and emotional insecurities concerning Alabama

If Bucc is still around or any of you guys that email with him, I'm curious, does he think Bama would take Hampton and Jones, now that they have Clark? Plus Humphrey is still out there, I just wonder if they will take 3 DB's with their last 4 spots.

it wasn't an email with super secret top info, or even his info

I get all that, but LSU being able to lockdown the state has been a huge part of our run from 00' to now. It's fine when we lose a 5* to USC being we never play them. It's a whole other story losing a 5* Safety 2 years ago and now to possibly lose 2 5*'s this year one of which is a Safety(a position in which we are extremely lacking) to a division rival who has been our sole roadblock to crystal balls in the last 2-3 years. It may not hurt the schools from those other states. LSU keeping the best in-state at home has been the reason we've been so successful over the last decade and a half. Bottom line: We need Louisiana's best players to keep it going.

What's the purpose of one saying, "I hope he choses LSU!" Same with my post - we don't really know, just stating our opinions.

I do hope he doesn't go to Bama. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he did. Right now that's the place to be.

oh man, that comment is like nails on a chalkboard

Really, its such a cop out, taking both sides type of statement.

I realize LSU will not get everyone we want. some kids want to go out of state. Others like to jump on the bandwagon. I understand reasonable discussion, even when things don't look for LSU, like with Robinson.

I just don't get the drive-by, "He gone" posters. Or the old local sources guy that swears whatever player is gone. Sometimes they are right like with Collins or Robinson (and most people thought that he was not signing with LSU), but at least just often they are wrong (Beckwith, Diarse).

niether have any real value that's true, but without anything of substance, why say "he gone"? As you said, it could go either way so why add the negative view? Is it just so you can say see i told you so if he does in fact commit to Alabama?

I see your point - I'm not a big "in your face" type of person though. No point especially when it's such a heated topic.

Currently, I think LF will come here but Hootie won't. We need both but that's all on the backs of the LSU staff at this point.

The visits tell the tale as far as I'm concerned. If he starts visiting Bama frequently then I'll be concerned, but that BOL talk of Hootie wanting to commit sounds like horse shite. I'm sure he's giving them a long look because Raymond isn't looking so sharp right now. Hell, the best DB on the team might be the one he's coached the LEAST. Still feels like this is CRob in reverse, lots of smoke on the Bama side but he'll commit to LSU and shut it down.

I don't pretend to know which way Hootie, or for that matter, the other high profile targets, will go. Like all LSU fans, I hope we can land as many as possible but unfortunately, "all" is an unreasonable expectation. Our team of coaches have done a good job & will continue to do so. We, as fans, need to grow a pair (ala, Bama fans), show some confidence and get over this "sky is falling" mentality over every big name recruit. When you look at some of the out of conference schools producing a really high level of talent from recruits no one has ever heard of it brings a little sanity into perspective. LSU will continue to excel in recruiting and as fans, we should fear no one...period.

Do you know any LSU fans like this in real life or are you coming to this conclusion based off what you read on an internet message board?

I want hootie like the rest of this board but major programs don't fall off because of a couple of guys. winston is balling out for fl. state and that hasn't destroyed bama. every state loses talented players. we want hootie but we will win a nc.

Real life or otherwise, I've never seen any fan base with such a widespread & ingrained defeatist attitude. This extends to all phases of the game from coaching to talent, performance & yes, recruiting. I don't understand it, certainly can't explain it, but nevertheless, it's real.
