Are we considered late on these guys because we didn't pursue them hard early on waiting for our in states to decide?

Just for the record...

LSU was not late in recruiting Carter. Haley has been camped out in Norcross this season.

Now, I do think it is fair to say that his real interest in LSU has come late.

This. People are thinking that because LSU missed on Willis that they put the full court press on Zo.

They are two completely different prospects.

I'm sure that the coaches have a feel who is interested in LSU for a year or two. how hard a guy is recruited depends on his relative worth in a changing environment. he may be great as a soph. and then drop down or vice versa and he may not pay any attntion to LSU at all. however, this late in the game, things change; these 5* guys like to go where other 5* guys have not gone (at same position).

the assumption that the staff didn't pursue a guy early is not a valid one.

just a hint: don't believe everything you read on here (or anywhere else) and believe almost nothing that you hear. rumors get accepted as fact by far too many people.

We need to pump more money into the system and get more recruiters, and take more trips. Stay with all these guys early and often because we have some ridiculous recruiters in the SEC now, and they recognize the level of talent in the state.

Think about it, 7 of the top 10 classes in 247 composite, are in the SEC! Go a little further, and you have 8 in the top 15, and 10 in the top 20.
