he seems to be keeping his AU commitment quiet to deceive another recruit into signing with them. Like Jackson did to Darren Myles.
ok...but that doesn't harm LSU in any way.

Hey J Hill....I challenge you! Prove everyone wrong and come prove you are THE man and are better than Hilliard! Be a man....don't run off and find a soft spot so you can play early!
Face diversity and challenges head on and rise to the top at the school you love from your home state with your family able to be at every game watching you, after you beat out the so-called "best" back in Louisiana (and nation in many peoples mind).
Injuries, transfers, grade problems, position changes.....they all happen often at this level. Dont run because we are loaded, grasp the opportunity and realize ALL great schools play multiple backs to be successful.
YOU ARE NOT taking dyer's place or Richardson's and being the only back at either place.
You will get a chance to prove yourself worthy, ask Ford, Blue, Ware etc and at that piont if you are ready to be one of the elite, YOU WILL PLAY!..
now since you read all the boards, read this, MEN come to LSU and challenege the best, cowards go out of state where they KNOW they can get early time. THink about that for just a minute and you will realize why they ran!
how about you stop being a freak and let the kid go to school where he wants to go?
i swear you people get way to caught up in this. It is HIS life, not your life. Quit talking like a jackass and let him do what he wants. There is more to Jeremy Hill than making LSU's recruiting class look pretty

It doesn't harm LSU, but it's still borderline unethical.

depending on what he's telling the LSU coaches, you're right. Ultimately it doesn't matter what the fans hear. But if he's lying to the coaches to help out Auburn and screw LSU, then he's a piece of shite, and Auburn is as well for asking him to do it.
But, with two other RBs in the class and us not pursuing an RB to replace him, it makes it unlikely that even if he's lying to LSU it will make much of a difference. With Jackson, we were also pursuing Myles and would have gotten him if either side had advanced knowledge of Jackson's intentions.

We don't have room for him. We have 23 spots, and 19 commits. We might lose Botts, but will have to add Fordham. So we have 4 spots!!!! Beckham, Rasco, A DT, and then either a lb or a D-lineman. Thats it!

I have no problem giving this kid a scholarship. He earned his over the course of this season, even if his earning it has nothing to do with his playing ability.

Agree, just saying he'll count in the 2011 numbers.

How do you figure 23 spots?

we self imposed a loss of two scholarships for our violations.

Take note Auburn fans. This would be an example of "the right thing to do."
Pay attention, learn, and adjust your dirty tactics accordingly.
Or continue to cheat and win now only to lose later...........it's up to you.

since we have EE can we sign 24 or 25. Normal teams are allowed to sign 27 as long as they only bring in 25. The other two have to be early enrollees or grayshirt if i'm not mistaken. So wouldn't we be able to sign 25, as long as we have 23 for this class, instead of 27 since we got ZM and whoever else coming in early. I only ask this b/c USC is making the NCAA look rediculous right now with the loophole they found. How they have so many committed prospects is rediculous.

There are some things they can get creative with, like Rivers getting a greyshirt, and Fleming going track(then walking on, next year-so he won't count on this year's #'s), and stuff like this, which I think could happen if a Drew/Jernigan wants to come on-board.

don't rule out a Thomas greyshirt

Lsu will have some greyshirts; 2 or 3. That would mean lsu takes 25-26. Also from what we know, Lsu is holding a scholly for Hill. He gets a scholly if he wants it. Jan 21 he visits with the rest of the " fam " and I don't think Lsu is out until that weekend.

To his credit, he decomitted very early.
I don't consider a December 6th decommitment being very early or even early when signing day is less than 2 months away. As we all have witnessed, the timing could be worse.

It's just a shame (if the silent commit to AU is indeed true) how the pressures of recruiting and the Internet can impact these kids' lives. Being from Louisiana and Baton Rouge especially, Hill has to hide his true feelings and his commitment because he's scared of the hometown and home state reaction. He has to lie to a reporter about his favorites because he's scared the LA locals will hammer him for it. Again, this is all assuming that he really is a silent commit to AU. It's easy for all of us to sit behind a keyboard and take shots at these kids because most if not all of us weren't big-time high school recruits that had 10 or 15 different schools in our ears, giving us millions of reasons every weekend on why we should play for that school. I can't begin to imagine the pressure that ANY of these recruits are under. Everything they do and say is going to be dissected and picked apart by fans, media, coaches, teammates and even family members. And only one fan base is going to be happy while the other 15 fan bases are going to be cussing the kid and degrading him.
Now I'm as big of a recruiting junkie as you'll find, but sometimes I wish college football, recruiting, camp circuits and social media wasn't as advanced as it is today because the level of intensity and scrutiny on these young men is unbelievable. One part of me loves followig recruiting daily, getting updates and discussing rumors. The other part of me wishes the Internet would go away and that these kids would just let everybody know on NSD where they were going so there could be no chatter, rumors, lies or bad-mouthing going on during the days leading up. These are teenagers, after all, and their decisions should go without ridicule

Nice spin job
But it appears he's keeping it silent to help auburn land other recruits, not because he can't handle the pressure.
And like projectp said earlier, if he's doing this to help auburn and dick lsu, frick him and frick auburn for asking it of him.

Yeah, that's just false. He has already decommitted so it isn't like he is hiding some kind of big surprise. Auburn is dirty, that has more to do with staying silent than people in Louisiana being mean to him.

Unless he is the first.
McKnight caught some shite, so did Janzen. But that was more regarding how they intentionally fricked with LSU.
If Hill does the same, he will catch a ration of shite. If he plays it straight, ala Trovon Reed or the hundreds of prospects that have left the state, he will not catch much shite.
If he is afraid of getting little dirty looks in the grocery store, then that says alot about his personality. . .which would be that he is a pussy.
