Why can't they? Nfl is classified as entertainment just like WWE. They argued as much in court and the court agreed. Why can't they do the same with college football and then cap it?

You break away from the colleges and pay them royalties, and become AAA football. That won't really work either because the fans will leave, but it at least caps cash and avoids lawsuits.

You hinted that LSU shouldn't have a head coach at all because the head coach's salary basically takes away from potential NIL collective funding.

NIL is outside that purview, strictly speaking.
It’s like an NFL player. He’s paid by the team, but can get outside money by doing commercials, giving speeches, proceeds from merchandise, etc.
