The odder thing is UGA only signing 4 of the top 50 from Georgia. If that happened in Louisiana for LSU, some of our fans would lose their minds.

A lot of the kids here prefer going out of state , most of the kids here don’t find Athens too appealing

Is Baton Rouge much better? Serious question, never been to Athens

That’s actually quite shocking and concerning long term. Can’t lock down your talent rich state, then that’s a problem. Not like it’s Florida with multiple teams either within one state or Alabama with Tide and Auburn.

I've lived in GA almost my entire life and cant disagree more here. Athens is easily one of the best SEC cities. It blows away Baton Rouge (for the person asking above) for comparison.
And I hate UGA and those fans (After living here most of my life), so definitely not biased at all there.
UGA doesnt stock up on GA talent because they recruit nationally (yes still mostly regionally, but nationally too) and have for years now under Kirby. They are getting top talent from all over. Athens is a pretty easy sell once people visit.

Yeah I bet the guys being recruited can’t get enough of REM and the B-52s

Georgia is good enough to recruit wherever they want if the talent level is higher than the in-state talent.
Georgia is also a large state and some recruits are geographically closer to other colleges.
I don't see any issue with their recruiting approach as they still pull in top 3 classes.

UGA is at a point now that they are grabbing top recruits from across the country. They have commits from California, Massachusetts, Nevada, Virginia, etc etc.

Atlanta and surrounding areas are mostly transplants which consists of 50% of the population. Most kids don’t grow up caring about uga in the Atlanta metro and surrounding areas.
