Well the AU money is like the free footballs here at the bash. Even if you don't want one you will go take a look.
NM guy hears about getting paid and then he decides he's interested in AU

At first I liked him because the Aubbies just rubbed his face in it and gave him no respect when he was hired. Now they fall all over themselves in front of him and forget they booed him when he got off the plane. But ever since his post game performance after the Oregon game it is obvious the guy has some "lack of class" issues. Not once did I ever him give any credit to Oregon after winning by the skin of his teeth. Not once on National T.V. anyway.

I've been saying all year how great Cam Newton and Nick Fairley were because the rest of the team pretty much looked like Tennessee in terms of talent.
Amazing how much a difference two players can make.

I think when they hired him, it was a "hey, you can have the job, but all we need you to do is coach. We'll hire the assistants, we'll take care of the recruiting."
hell his OC is the real head coach, so he doesn't even have to coach

Having Gus is huge for Auburn. I think Chizik can recruit too, obviously. They are have post ncg game success as well though.
But I wouldn't let Chizik around my niece and nephew i know that. Dude just comes off as a scumbag.

Then they are not very bright and weren't paying attention to what happened at USC for example.
The difference there was that there was a lawsuit where people were compelled to testify under oath -- and face potential criminal perjury charges.
If it were up to the NCAA, NOTHING would have happened to USC. The lawsuit forced their hand.
With Auburn, it's truly DISGUSTING how f'ing obvious it is that the NCAA is just turning a blind eye. They've opened a hornet's nest for recruiting that they may never be able to fix.
Want money?
No problem. Just let the world know that your dad, uncle, coach, etc. will make your decision for you and then let them go out and blatantly ask for the $$$$$$'s.
As long as no can "prove" you had any knowledge (wink, wink), nothing will happen.
Total f'ing bullshite and the NCAA should be disbanded and the every f'ing employee in the entire corrupt organization should be fired immediately.

The NCAA initial Cam-gate ruling opened Pandora's bank vault for several perennial underperforming teams this year. It's going to be worse next year.

Nobody wants another SMU fiasco.
A strong Auburn is a strong LSU, remember that.
Can't have every kid going to Alabama, esp. with Saban there.
I think you're on the right track in figuring that the sanctions will be post recruiting. I really didn't think anything significant would ever result from the Bush findings.
I am now certain that Auburn will be crippled, but not permanently maimed.

All in. Definitely something rotten on the plains.
FWIW, I agree with you about Chizik. That "God is great" crap after the NC made me throw up in my mouth.

the fact that he preaches god and religion (and has trooper do it too) while being dirty as frick is pretty mind-blowing
Really? Just consider him another televangelist who happens to have a congregation of 85k and holds service on Saturdays. He fits right in with the Sunday guys, and no, I'm not talking the NFL.

what's Amazing about Auburn is some of the SAME DAMN PEOPLE that have gotten them in hot water in the past are STILL highly involved with the progam.

There's only one school in the SEC having to give up schollys due to cheating while recruiting.
Which school is that?

i doubt the NCAA would ever give another team the DP...even if it is as bad at auburn as people say....IMO Chizik= Lee Harvey Ozwald....the fall guy for the powers that be above him

Come back and see us when you get the death penalty. Or a quarterback.

The ridiculous thing is that he HAS to do it to keep his fanbase. The religious right holds the purse strings in the Bible Belt, and some recruits won't let you in the door if you're not perceived as a "man-of-Gawd". It really behooves him to ride the Jesus-train.
Posted on 2/2/11 at 12:14 pm to The_Pistol
Yep, there's good money in the Jesus business. Looks like Clemson/Bob Jones-Varsity went to the same revival and got some of that old-time religion.
