I've always wondered what would happen if Southern or Grambling had high profile prestigious coaching staffs who were well connected, respected by the Black community, and great recruiters.

4* DE (according to ESPN) Kurt Holuba committed to Princeton over Stanford, Florida State, Michigan State, and Wisconsin this week.

He is only rated a 3* on 247 and rivals tho....nonetheless, I was surprised he turned them schools down but I guess he is doing the right thing by thinking about his future after football.

Marcellus Wiley wasn't a 5 star, but he had offers from USC and UCLA. He went to Columbia instead, gained 75 pounds, changed positions, and became a Pro Bowler.

Im from Hattiesburg and Deandre Brown was a 5* that came to USM over just about everyone including LSU. Pretty sure USM being in CUSA is an FCS school but im not positive to be honest.
USM is NOT an FCS school. Good grief. Wasn't too long ago USM was beating Alabama, and also beat LSU the last time they played em. Hell, they had an (outside) shot at the damn Sugar Bowl two years ago. (have won 1 game since, but still)

Princeton does not award scholarships so that will be a very expensive education (but profitable education at the same time).

I would have definitely gone to Duke or Stanford over an Ivy League school if I was a 4 star recruit.

He committed to Alabama, but chose pro baseball. Gave up baseball and went to Tulane where he started until Wally English, the HC, benched him to play his son, Jon English. He then went to the Indians of Northeast Louisiana, soon to be followed by Stan Humphries.

I want to say you could find this dude at the bottom of Madden 12 in the WR free agents and he was an absolute beast.

They might be comparable to the Southland. Facilities and lack of TV exposure would cap growth.

All the guys in the NFL I can think of who went to FCS either didn't start at the FCS school, or was not highly ranked out of HS.

Princeton, as well as all the other Ivy League schools, don't give athletic scholarships. However, they do give very substantial financial awards. The amount varies by school. Princeton's would probably be in the range of $ 50,000 to $ 58,000 per player. (They have the largest endowment per student in the US.)

It's true that the Ivies do not award athletic scholarships but I can guarantee that dude isn't paying for his education. It's funny how pretty much every football player I've ever met from an Ivy managed to qualify for an "academic" scholarship.
