With Cregg gone, how does this affect recruiting positive and negative? Give me your thoughts please.

Depending on how long this hire takes is what will likely hurt the most, however it makes it more difficult to grab Armella, Banks, Agbo, and Dewberry due to the coach they where recruited by being fired. But it depends who gets hired, because if he's a good recruiter than it may not wind up biting us in the end.

All will depend on the hire.

Came At a horrible time though.

I blame o for not firing him before this. He hasn't been a good recruiter at all.

Gotta be a negative until they hire someone. Especially with LSU's oline camp coming up

This is very bad. Fall out like this means something went terribly wrong. When something goes terribly wrong, that’s not good.

Lsu fired the OL coach, not the head coach. Not sure something went “terribly wrong”. Probably just a manageable level of wrong.

“Fall out” terribly wrong” “very bad” “not good”

We get it, the sky has fallen! I love when people completely overreact to a situation that is not known to them. It happens here quite a bit for whatever reason. This has a really good chance to turn out great.

Could it have been done earlier snd differently, sure but it doesn’t look like it was because of his ability to coach and if it wasn’t then how could anyone have foreseen what was to come?

Hopefully a certain LSU alumni is offered and accepts the offer and has immediate success!

Shitty timing with the super talented offensive lineman that are coming in. fricking dude cheated and still couldn't get Tristan Leigh

As it turns out, an offer of Baileys from a shoe doesn't seal the deal for many players.

We will be just fine, if anything, we tried to get ahead of the issue and fired him when the truth came to light, we have until august to hire a coach and feb. to sign kids, at least coach o is trying to knip it and show that Lsu can do it the correct way, if in fact that's how it all went down

Something tells me that Dabo had his hands in this and made Leigh play them like a fiddle

If I remember correctly Tristan signed "in secret" and didn't tell anyone but Clemson. Apparently Tristan isn't the only one that he had improper contact with.

Same folks, who for the last couple of years, wanted him gone.
Its bad timing, but according to the rumors, it had to be done. Now

No point in making that short trip if there's no offensive line coach to meet. I don't think this affects any of our current commits seeing as they're all in-state guys (outside of Taylor, who is closing in on a year since being committed and I could see him a numbers casualty)

Honestly though, I think this works in our favor for the guys like Banks, Dewberry and Armella. They are already coming in this weekend, but you now have an incentive for these guys to come back during the season and actually meet their new position coach

Rumblings about trying to go after the FSU O-line coach which would help out with Armella if that happened. Still think LSU has a chance with Banks. Dewberry I don't think as much.

Armenia and Banks would be an awesome finish to complete this OL class. Is this possible? Comments please.
