Welp so glad we didn’t take the Clemson TE that you idiots wanted us to take right away.

Not sure there is really any evidence one is better than the other? Both are 4 stars out of high school that never became starters.

I’d take either but I don’t see it as a coincidence that Takas entered the portal especially this late when we have an obvious need at the position with his former coach.

If BK doesn't pursue him it is because he isn't worth the scholarship so don't melt if LSU doesn't get him.

I tend not to look at stats all the time because we all should know opportunities matter. Thad Moss did absolutely nothing until he got to LSU, and arguably had the most productive year for a LSU TE ever. Obviously he had the greatest QB in college ever, but still

How about both?

I would probably wait to see what comes available post-spring, but taking two tight ends is not a reach.

Targeted just four times last season, Takacs has 8 receptions for 78 yards and two touchdowns over the last 3 years.
Pretty damn efficient when he does see the field.

Not true. Former players and coaches dislike Kelly.

He could be a real interesting end zone target!

I agree, my point exactly. Let’s just take this guy because he went to ND.

If he's a decent blocker, thats reason enough.

Our best blocking TE last season was a walk on

Agreed. Is the only scholarship TE Kole Taylor right now? (Other than the freshman coming in this fall)

Biggest competition is probably Boston College here.

His TE coach was hired as OC there recently

And if he's a grad transfer, a Masters from BC is a lot better than LSU (hurts to admit, but let's be real).

Jack Mashburn - he was a WO in 2019, RS in 2020, and was awarded a scholarship last year. Kid busted his arse to get on the field and did a great job filling in for Taylor. Only had 4 rec last year, as he was mainly used to block on rushing plays to chip the LB on passing downs. He played QB in HS and would love to see him get more targets

Depends on the masters program.

Plus, I'm sure we could pay him enough to get a masters from BC, if he so desired.

BC is a much better school, not sure what LSU would have over them besides maybe something O&G related. Maybe Internal Auditing?

We gonna pay him 50k+ a year? We wouldn't shell that out for top rated HS kids with 4 years left...

I think the kid would be a take, my only point was since he's a grad transfer, he might be looking for the best free Masters he can get. Let's hope not.
