But Leo didn't say anything like this kid did. I believe there is very good chance we get him...or I hope so at least

Gay is playing games right now . He isn't coming here & I think Phillips sticks with OU. They should both come here and get developed by Aranda & play in the greatest stadium in the nation but for some reason I feel they won't

Great. Way to stay positive!.......

Coach O is known for his ability to close. I didn't agree with the hire, but frick that. He's my guy now, and i will give the guy a chance to prove himself.

You got Coach O, with 3 weeks (with extra visits due to the lack of coaches on staff) to get some kids here. I really do think that we'll finish a lot stronger than most think.

Red Bull cans will be everywhere, and i totally expect one or two booms that come completely out of nowhere.

Going to be a fun 3 weeks, brothers. Imo

Well we backed off jones.. which makes no sense..
I think it is more likely
Gay-Phillips----Tyler taylor or Ellis brooks or nick smith.. also if chassion is on board no telling how aranda would use him

Agreed. It absolutely makes no sense that LSU would back off Levi Jones unless they've got a couple of other outside LB silently committed. And I think K. Chaisson is on board. Coach Aranda has told him that he would use Chaisson to draw attention away from Arden Key.

why doesn't it make sense?

Because Levi Jones is a 4* rated linebacker and LB is a position of great need for LSU currently.

I really don't think Willie is playing games like many here may think. What, honestly, does he have to gain by saying all the things he said? He went into details about LB positions. He had to have been already paying attention to LSU. I really hope we can get Willie!

I agree, he's got to know that this is a position of great need for LSU and that he'd be a very good fit here. Yes, he could be just having fun with us, but my gut tells me no. Fingers crossed.

You have no idea on this. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't, but you sure as hell don't know this as if it were fact.

Mullen has been mentioned for several jobs. ON is a crap show. LSU would be a great option.

If he goes to state it is strictly due to wanting to stay in the home state and the fact OM has destroyed itself by cheating so badly. State isn't nor will it ever be a top sec program. Every decade or so you will get a 3 loss season.

I never pull against a kid, but I do have a little smile/smirk on my face looking at Patterson at OM and that shite show of a recruiting class and program, with the boom not even having been dropped yet. I don't know about the kid, but Patterson's dad was a pos.

you sir, are not alone.

I'm smiling more about older bro because of the shite he pulled here at LSU, and now he's on that staff.

Jacob Phillips twitter is %1000 OU.....just like Dylan was Bama.

I think there's zero shot to flip him, but the Brooks offer is interesting as is nick smith.

Why don't we ever say "it's tough to pull kids from LSU" or Louisiana ?

Well, because ....

People like to whine and moan about this fictitious wall, yet, it seems pretty intact to me. Lose two from Baton Rouge and all of the sudden they get no one from Louisiana? Does anyone remember that this is a transition year with a new coach at the helm? Does anyone realize how amazing of a job it's been to have a top 5 recruiting class when a new coach comes in?

Other than Saban or Meyer, I'd like to see another program who's ever pulled in a class like this in their first transition year. If it's happened, it hasn't happened much.

Compare classes with what these new coaches across the country and compare what they lost and what they've brought in since taking over. This board and every other LSU board across the internet would be in nuclear meltdown if they were only able to bring in some of what these other coaches are bringing in because of the change.

For reference, in 2015, the 3 kids that went out of state, 2 of those 3 kids have transferred to other schools and have not made an impact anywhere.

excellent point.

I'll add stability is an illusion. All things change, and there's no real prediction of when.

Oregon obviously is changing staff, much more personnel than LSU (have to admit, the way we did it did provide more continuity than normal) and ND coaching changes keep cropping up; it's probably only moderately affecting recruiting right now. But that's enough to possibly prevent a NC run.

Even Bama, even though it's not hurting them because of the brand, if you're a senior on offense at Bama you are about to play under your 3rd OC

Oregon is 41st in recruiting, 27th in 2016, 16th in 2015. That is significant.

I tend to agree, if Gay is serious about playing ball at LSU then commit already.

We keep seeing articles about how much he likes what Aranda is doing with this defense and all the other positive stuff he is saying about LSU. If true, than commit, sign your damn LOI and get ready to play here next season.

We must be getting our share because our recruiting has been Top 5 or 10 every year. Even now after a coaching change in mid season LSU has a great class which will probably be top 5.

Sometimes some of you worry too much about certain recruits. Louisiana has a bumper crop of talent and cannot sign them all so if a few go to Bama then so be it.

I always remember all the concern over losing Hootie to Bama. All LSU did was go sign Jamal Adams in Texas. So who came out better in that deal?
LSU will have talent and if Saban is coming into Louisiana and takes a kid ir two then ok.

LSU's recruiting base is pretty large and deep. LSU will get what it needs.

Too many 20 somethings posting here with very little perspective. Many started paying attention to LSU football in the early 2000s.

Give em another 15 years and they will be moaning about the "kids" on here.
