Funny that you mention that. I bet you will begin to see a lot of crossovers in that category in years to come given the recent success rate.

Antonio Gates
Tony Gonzalez
Jimmy Graham

All were standout basketball players in college. Hell Julius Peppers played guard at UNC.

Ed Daniels confirms Gathers isn't signing with St. John's Wednesday and will wait until the spring.

Time to add Gathers back to the main recruiting thread. This is nothing but good for LSU.

Bubba, give me some info on Dabney ... How good is this kid?

Also, if Gathers commits any chance his boy Felix flips from Texas to LSU?

They talked about it yesterday how NFL teams are starting to look at undersized(6'4 - 6'6) college basketball players or players that might not be good enough to make it in the NBA but can make the change to the TE position.

they've been doing this for like 10 years now

I would offer and sign Dabney right now. Then you have a signee playing on Gathers' team all year long.

Good story on Gathers decommitment. Below is the money quote, which looks good for LSU.

quote:

I have recently realized that because the decision I make in choosing a university is one that will greatly impact my future, I must be 100 percent sure of the choice I make. I plan to devote time to analyzing all prospective scenarios and seriously considering how my decision will affect not only my basketball dreams and my education, but also considering how my decision will affect my family and those around me.

Below is also a quote from Rivals basketball recruiting analyst Jerry Myer:

quote:

the Reserve (La.) Riverside Academy product has been under significant pressure to stay in-state and help build back up the LSU program. - Jerry Meyer

What is up with Sydie London?

I have heard nothing about his recruitment. Has his stock dropped that much?

Waiting on a commitable offer from LSU, Bama, or Florida. I hope LSU offers for football. Tons of upside and he could play basketball.

The Scout article says he is expected to stay close to home (LSU or Texas).

Dabney can def ball. He'd be a solid 2 guard.
