I’m beyond ready to see a return to the days when LSU defenses were feared.
We’re certainly going to have the athletes available next year to make that leap.

Tells me this player has a goal before he moves on because he could definitely move on. That type of hunger is contagious if he's trying to win it all.

I’m ready for relentless, havoc-causing D-Lines, ball-hawking secondaries, and LB’s that hit so hard they separated soul from flesh.

Everytime I see Hayes fawcett post, I expect it to be a LSU announcement now

Given all the rule changes benefitting the offense, and now the portal, those days of powerful, feared defenses are gone. The key now is to get up field pressure on the offense/QB and force quick throws and bad reads and turnovers. Explosive power, speed, and team discipline is today’s defense.

Remember missing out on Jared Verse? Well now we have just gotten our 2nd chance.
LSU is doing something Ole Miss and FSU wish they could do. Load up in the portal AND bring in an elite recruiting class.

I hope he is invigorated in 2025 with LSU as he did next to nothing in 2024 with FSU. As great as he was in 2023, he was a near non-factor in 2024 with poor effort. He just went through the motions in a lost season.

He was. This guy is pretty talented but he is not Verse. Also hopefully leaves attitude issues in Tallahassee. Regardless, solid add and our DL is finally DEEP.

Regardless of comparisons, can Payton be an All-SEC level performer? I think the answer is yes so that’s all that matters.
Kid has to be motivated in his last year to build his stock for the draft, and People’s showed this year he can get production as Swinsons game elevated without question. You wouldn’t say Swinson is more talented than Payton. This is a great addition, bottom line

Payton dropped off tremendously once guys like Fiske & Verse went pro. Verse was simply a wrecking ball on his own. He didn’t need to play off of anyone else
