That's what you gathered from his statement?
Idk what goes on behind closed doors... but some of you guys are delusional when it comes to this staff/recruiting stuff. It's not always the kids.

Dude, you’re the one with all the posts. Maybe you should look in the mirror?

Where do I allude that a teenage recruit is an idiot?

That's well above avg for Westgate
This isn't true though.
Up until 2019. their prospects regularly went juco out of necessity.
Then it changed, and almost every kid who signs has been a qualifier.
Their defense - especially run defense - was terrible until ex-NFL player Tyrunn Walker became DC. He is a Westgate grad who had to go JUCO and played in the NFL.
Former LSU player Jerald Hawkins is on their staff. Those guys have made a difference.

It really has become irrelevant at this point, you can always go back and get some of the ones you missed in the portal. Why do we really care who comes to play here or sit the bench as a freshman?

Corey Raymond you have one job

I’d love to be able to up vote that 100 times. A kid saying they are coming to your school really doesn’t mean anything.

We are in NIL era now, it isn't all on the coaches. If a program offers a crazy amount what is he suppose to do? He doesn't have power or control over who gets what and what amount.

I’m sure they aren’t “telling him what he wants to hear”

He is replaceable.
I don't care if he leaves the state as long as you replace him with a comparable player
I'm in this boat as well. I like Antoine and it would be much simpler for all if he just plays at LSU but he can be replaced. If Raymond can't lock him up then he needs to lock in someone comparable. If so, I don't care what state he's from.

I don’t know who his replacement is, but explain to me the mindset of 17yr old that LSU has made a priority, hired a Coach to his joy(his words), loves Corey R, said all kind of good stuff about LSU and committed. What changed since you know so much, is it $, or did Fla St show him that a La DB has a better chance of getting to the Pros through their program. I don’t think OP is implying that he’s dumb, I just think he’s never been in a situation where he receives this much attention with instant $ involved.
I want him at LSU bad, but if he doesn’t commit we’ll move on. If he chooses Fla St and the $ is the reason, if he isn’t the Elite CB we both hope he is, he’ll be forgotten in the shuffle 1000 miles away without family around that have already spent the upfront $. If he commits to LSU, even if he’s not a superstar he will still be near home and family, taken care of. This is something these families need to explain to these recruits, some parents do and some don’t. It’s a shame but it’s the Facts.

Wouldn’t worry about Antoine I fully expect him back in this class

In-state guys tend to realize closer to signing day they don't want to live 5 hours away. A few that don't realize it a year later. Very few make it past that year mark and are LSU caliber that we really missed out on. You could probably name 1 per class on average. Sucks when they leave, but most end up getting roped back in.
