Some of you people who act like you are so experienced with recruiting and those who voice their concerns just can’t handle it are just silly. Look at our current situation on defense. You have a group of players in the secondary that can’t defend me much less a division 1 athlete. The concerns of the defensive coaching staff are legitimate. We are not preforming well enough in recruiting to maintain relevance in the SEC. Not to be able to field a legitimate defense when you have a prolific offense is quite troubling. Then our future recruiting, at the moment, on defense is becoming alarming! So when you tell people they can’t handle recruiting maybe you need to be honest with yourself!

I don't overreact either way. Maybe I am experienced with recruiting because I understand that kids will decommit and kids will flip to us. I'm not coach, I'm not an insider, I'm not connected to the program, etc. Just don't get too excited when a kid we want decommits from another school and don't get too down when a kid flips from us. Recruiting is a rollercoaster.

Agreed. I’ve followed this crap for 30 years, always say I’m done bc of the drama but I can’t quit it lol.

This happens every year. Kids flip away and to us as you said.

As long as we have a good head coach I have faith that it’ll work itself out come signing day

Honestly I’d rather kids let their intentions be known while we have time to react to it rather than blindside us by simply faxing their LOI to another school on signing day.

I get it that ideally nobody flips to another school…y’all let me know if that’s ever happened though

This is eerily reminiscent of last year with bravion rogers and Jayvon Thomas. Flip candidates that leveraged lsu for a larger bag. These kids playing the process as they should

I think both are correct. There is an issue with our defensive recruiting but there is also a huge overreaction to it going on here as well. (At least for right now). It’s only been 2 years since BK was hired. We did manage to play in the SEC championship game last year (and while that’s not our ultimate goal, that is far from a minor accomplishment especially with the god awful roster left behind by the numb nuts before BK). If within the next 2 years, you don’t see drastic improvements on the defensive side (or at the very least good attempts at remedying the issue with coordinator/position coaching changes), then it’s time to get as worked up about it as some of you are. Maybe our current defensive staff is an issue. You don’t always hit on coaching hires (even Saban fricked up on some hires). It only becomes a real issue when you refuse to remedy those issue (like Les fricking Miles refused to do).

It’s far from time to panic right now.

How do we know Bates and Evans aren’t doing the same thing to get more money from LSU ?

Or do we just assume the absolute worst all the time?

Could be a ploy to get more money from us though since we are using this logic that when recruits de-commit or rumors swirl then it means that’s all that’s happening right ?

Or do we don’t apply the same logic to our current commits that we do to everyone else’s ?

Personally, I think every situation is unique.
The only knowns at this point are Jumbo’s issues and our DB development

Who are the potential "2-4" Aggie flip candidates outside of Dre'lon?

Bussey and Weston Davis are the 2 I've seen most referenced

ETA: Oh and Reliford.

You're exactly right. Someone would have to be blind to not see that our defense needs all the help it can get. I hate that we lost a highly ranked DB. No one should panic though. We've got time to bring in someone else.

Now if you're Texas A&M then should be extremely panicked.

I don’t imagine anyone would “defend” you for anything including your mother.

I want to believe but we’ve seen this exact same thing last year. What’s taking him so long to flip if he really wants to be here? Our guy just flipped straight to Georgia, no drama just a clean cut. For us we have to wait and wait and wait for a flip. Wake me up when it happens

Probably because it’s not happening, unless there is a total collapse at 8&4.
