Even with the loss did we win with regards to recruiting?

I know it was a boost for A&M, but with all of the excitement and scoring in the game I would think some of our recruiting targets would be excited about coming to LSU. The offense put up a lot of points. OL prospects can see where they could contribute early. Our dynamic duo probably see an opportunity to provide elite level talent to the run game and WRs saw us open the offense up a bit. Lastly DT QBs see a chance to showcase their talent with Burrow notching 3 TD passes and 3 TD runs.

Honestly. If recruits were watching that game, I think it helped. It was exciting. The back and forth. The ups and downs. Young players would get fired up watching a game like that.

The downside, it helped A&M too.

It helped with any players “on the fence” to either team.

This. Recruits saw that we won that game if fairly called by the zebras.

Who from LA we wanted did Jimbo get in 2019, who from 2020 is A&M even in the top 2 for?

We also got the 2nd best player in Texas this year

This game wouldn't hurt recruiting at all. It was incredibly exciting, one of the best games I've ever watched.

A&M didn't overwhelm LSU, the game came down to a couple of plays, a questionable call and some determination which both teams showed.

I don't believe a kid changes his decision or commitment based on the outcome of 1 game. Kids build close relationships with their recruiters and want playing time which is usually why they sign with a particular school.

That being said, you can bet your life savings that Jimbo and the A&M staff will use that game to sell recruits why they should choose Aggie over LSU and other schools.

I know jack squat about actual recruiting. I do know as an LSU guy we perceive that Alabama gets away with things that others can't and the wound is still so fresh that I can't help but wonder if the way A&M won the game doesn't show they are willing to up the ante and do what they need to do to get to the same playing field as Bama. That is a hypothetical; I admit it may just be sour grapes, but would definitely be a loss for LSU recruiting.

Yes and no. Players on the fence care. It's also what the game or games show that makes a difference. Emery straight up said the LSU/UGA game made a difference. An offensive player that questions if we can give them an environment to succeed gets a glimpse of what can be. It's the impression, not the outcome that makes the difference. The UGA game showed it and this game did as well.

That game was a disaster for recruiting.

Aggies look like the new "it" team.

This team struggled with the red zone all season. Too many times they drive, only to settle for 3 points instead of TDs. Well, seven times they lined up at the red zone and kept scoring. It showed guts, toughness and some offensive creativity.

why, because it took the great Jimbo 7 OT's to beat LSU at home. they were favored to win. and a little help from the refs as well.

If they watched the game it can only help LSU's image. Playing in exciting games attracts players. (That's the only good thing about our cross division opponent florida every year)
If anything LSU comes across as the sympathetic figure-gutsy fighters that kept getting screwed by refs.

Unfortunately it also helps A&M recruiting more, just being able to say they finally got a win over the Tigers.Makes them look like they're on the upswing with a new coach. Until now, its been similar to LSU/Bama, we've been able to cherry pick texas because they haven't beaten us lately.

Yeah that 160 or so passing yards and 50% completion rate A&M had before that last 4th qtr drive was so impressive.
