So, it will have almost no negative effects but it will get a non-negligible amount of money to a kid they want to steer to Ole Miss.

How much is it?

Matt is my friend, this has nothing to do with Ole Miss. he has known the family since he was in the 8th grade because he has played on his AAU team. This is about helping and celebrating Elijah.

This is just retarded business IQ. Why would you support a Local Kid to go to a different school in a different state? It will deter people from buying a vehicle from you.

You underestimate the amount of people who don’t know and don’t care about that

Their best player is Smith and he came from HS recruiting. One of their RBs came from the portal, but the other was a recruit. Most of their defense was from recruiting. Their depth at OL that allowed them to keep winning through injuries- all recruiting. Their roster was built on HS recruiting. You are completely missing the fact that they 100% did supplement their roster with the portal. They just did it extremely well.

They had to pay to keep some of these players too - they didn’t stay for the love of OSU

An Ole Miss alum giving a top player a car and cash can’t hurt their chances.

You think Matt is just giving the kid a car out of the goodness of his heart with no ulterior motive?

Bitch please

The idea is actually great, but I don’t think LSU wants to take 15 transfers a year. They want to take a talented high school class, develop them, and pay those guys the longer they stay in the program.

Ohio State has the model figure out. Everyone thinks they went out and spent all this money on numerous players. They paid more to retain the guys they already had in the program.

I’m not in any defense of Matt Bowers, but I guy I used to work with is one of their GMs and an avid LSU fan. They gave DJ Pickett a vehicle for NIL. LINK

They also did a deal with Micheal Van Buren. This is really easy and cheap advertising in the car business.

Recruiting the transfer portal is a better path to success

Maybe so, but college football recruiting is a mess. Even if you get a kid out of the portal with 2 or more years left... you have to recruit him to stay his last year.

Bowers is trying to sell cars in Louisiana. If he buys a Louisiana quarterback for Ole Miss, that would be the worst public relations move in the history of car dealerships. I would never step foot in his dealership again (although I don’t think I have ever been in there anyway).

Colton Nuss says hello. He's a bigger version of Nuss, but left handed. Also I believe he's more of a runner than Nuss bus

No it's not. Its 100% about Matt and his publicity he's getting from this for his dealership. He can give two shits about football

Why would they want to waste money like this with no contract or ability to enforce where he signs?
____________

It is not a waste if the deep pockets get what they want.

Don’t think it’s just “giving him a car”

The motive could simply be the press release he got to send out and the use of Haven's NIL in advertisements. He does have a BR dealership and this is a high profile kid.
