And the idea that QBs cannot improve their accuracy with quality coaching is laughable. Hell, when Burrow was asked why he didn’t have more top offers coming out of high school, his reply was that he wasn’t very accurate. That’s Joe Burrow!!!
Joe Burrow's junior and senior year stats combined from high school:
468/652 (72%), 8,177 yards, 110 TDs and 9 INTs.
and sprinkled in 219 carries for 1,231 yards (5.6 YPC) and 14 TDs.

Think of all the years we would have been stoked about these cats - and of course we are, I think all of these guys are relatively underrated and like the staff's ability to evaluate them early, but those are going to be tough calls to make, "Sorry man - we just don't have the room to take everybody we love in this class."
Great problem to have.

Just for the record. I’m totally against trashing recruits and potential recruits on this board.
The other poster can say what he wants but one of our past highly valued targets had a really close family member post here a lot. That family member was instrumental in LSU getting his commitment. Had we trashed that recruit as people are trashing Finley here, that commitment may have ended differently.
Why take the chance? It makes the whole fan base look like douchebags and recruits and family members see that.
There are countless instances where a recruit has said “ I don’t like those fans” because of venom spewed at them on various social media sites.
In the end, you trust the coaches that do this for a living, and are building the highest ranked recruiting class in LSU’s history.

And there are countless QB throughout history that greatly improved accuracy with improved footwork, mechanics, and release - all of which can be improved through coaching (and hard work of course).
Also, to add, Mike Leach thinks you can't teach accuracy and that the idea that you can is one of the biggest myths and mistakes in football:
LINK
quote:
“People make this mistake all over the country, and everybody can think of one, but there will be a guy who is big, strong and athletic, and everyone gets tempted by speed and if someone has a super strong arm.”
“Then they say ‘Well all he has to do is work on his accuracy. Well ok. He won’t be accurate in high school. Then some college will take him, and then he won’t be accurate there, and then the NFL says ‘all he has to do is work on his accuracy,’ and they’ll take him there, and he won’t be accurate there and then he’ll be out of the league.”
“The thing that’s amazing to me, is that after all of high school he’s not accurate, and now all of a sudden you’re special and you’re going to make him accurate? And then after college he’s not accurate, and you’re special and you’re going to make him accurate? I just haven’t seen that happen. I’ve seen guys improve, but they don’t all of a sudden become accurate.”
Also, your comments about Joe Burrow are bizarre. I've never heard that before, but if he said that, he's just being modest. He was incredibly accurate in high school and when he was transferring to LSU from Ohio State the scouting report was that he was a very accurate QB. Everyone was excited to hear that.
Article before transfer calling him accurate
Another article when he was transferring with several people touting his accuracy

The notion anything said on here affects recruits is laughable and I know this because I have talked to more than a 100 SEC recruits and asked them that very same question.
I’ve talked to more than you, and you’re wring.
It’s a case-by-case thing.
And their parents definitely care what is said on here.

I'm disappointed any time a clueless fan makes negative remarks about a potential recruit.
I remember a few decades back there was an OL from new Orleans that was top rated. Fans were giddy when he signed with LSU and started many games. Average career. His younger brother was a linebacker, also signed the following season. Not highly rated, but he led LSU's defense in tackles.
You never know.

There is always the possibility that some kids that we really want, just flip. Remember Phillips flipping from OU to the tigers or the one that just flipped from the vols to LSU. I know none of us want to entertain that thought but it could happen

John & Nicky Hazard. Believe John was hurt and didn't really recover I believe.

Who does Burch, Crawford and Dumervil compare to that we already have playing. Haven’t seen these guys play so trying to get an idea of impact.
Posted on 10/30/19 at 3:44 pm to shoelessjoe
Burch would likely be the more dominant than anyone on our team currently and it wont be close. Dumervil has the tools to be a legit LT. Idk that much about Crawford but people seem high on him so lets just assume he would be a solid contributor
Posted on 10/30/19 at 3:54 pm to shoelessjoe
We don't really have comparable guys honestly. Dumervil has a solid floor and ceiling at LT, which we don't have. Burch is a freaky 4-3 edge rusher. I know the least about Crawford so I will withhold from commenting.

With some credit to the Carthage coaches and the help they, and his family got him as far as training, he did that by training. So his ceiling went from a "meh" to "ok, how far can we take this?".
It's his effort and the rate of his development that woke people up. So right now I'd say his ceiling is not that of Dumervil, but it just might be right under him. He's no longer a project (as an OT), the 'project phase' is now behind him and done with.

John was a huge recruit. Bear Bryant didn’t just visit anybody out of State and he wanted John bad. He wasn’t a superstar here, but a very solid player. Nicky was an animal.

OK this is extremely disturbing. IDK who you are and you shouldn't know me. How do you know my name?

i think we close with:
Guillory
Dumervil
Webb
Evans
Burch to Clemson
Crawford to grades

This seems like one of the more likely scenarios atm, but who knows what can happen.

Guillory, Dumervil, Webb, and Evans would be my wish list.
Would put you at 28 commits.

Burch not on your wish list? Or is he still too much of a long shot to be realistically considered?
