Been telling baws on here for a long time now that the Oregon job is a no-brainer for Lanning to stay at UO. Lanning has it made in Eugene.

Eugene is a great city. UO has top 3 facilities, and Knight seems pretty committed to winning one before he passes Also people here simply do not care as much, so he has a fraction of the stress an SEC job has. Unless he has NFL aspirations I think he stays at UO a very long time.

I really think that Oregon is going to win a national championship soon. Dan Lanning has recruited extremely well.

It’s only a matter of time before they ascend to being a championship team.

Also, Nike will probably pay for whatever players they need during this NIL era.

Honestly it’s the best way to look at recruiting. If you’re not gonna get them, just be happy they go to a place where you’ll only have to deal with them in a playoff setting.

I don't think so, and here's why:

A team now has to win@ least 3 extremely difficult games in a row. I'm not sure they will be batyle-tested enough in the "Big Whatever"

You? I felt like i was the only one thinking logically (that includes national media) when Saban left and everybody was sure that Lanning would leave for Bama. Made absolutely ZERO sense. Why be the guy after THE GUY? Oregon in the money spending era destroys Bama. Bama's prestige from Saban and his work in the background is the only thing keeping them not falling off immediately. Once these games are played, the decline will soon be seen.

Lanning came from the SEC and is building an SEC level team. A defensive minded head coach that knows the exact type of offense he wants. His inexperience in being a head coach is the only thing that kept him out of the national championship last year. Oregon is now in the Big 10 too meaning in addition to Nike, they are getting WAAAAY more money per year than when they were in the PAC.

Oregon is going to be on equal footing with the most elite teams in 2 years tops. Hell, at worst they are a top 5 team this year.

Ohio St, Michigan, USC, and Penn St isnt enough of a test to you? Michigan, Ohio St, and Penn St have enough defense to test anybody. Ohio St and USC have enough offense to test anybody.

Throw Washington in there too. It’s not a weak conference at all.
