Donte Jackson "I don't think LSU stands above the others"

“Everybody expects me to go to LSU,” Jackson told the AJC. “But if I was going there, I’d be committed. It’s not that hard to just commit. But I think every team has a chance to get me, and I don’t think LSU stands above the others just because they are the home team.”

One of his best friends said lsu wasn't in his top 2, 3 days before he committed to lsu. Donte will be at lsu

I wish people did more video interviews or some sort of that. Isn't it odd that a GEORGIA newspaper puts quotes like that to make it seem like GEORGIA is still very much in it?
Not saying he didn't say those things, but these writers are always good at spinning any quote given to them

Personally, I think we need to fill the class with a top QB and some top OL and DL. Nice to have Jackson but think we have bigger needs!!!!

I think he ends up at LSU. The only thing that has me a little concerned is him committing 2 days before his OV to LSU. A couple of days after his visit to UGA.

We have a lockdown corner in our own backyard and he is a seriously gifted athlete and return man to boot. If he went to UGA and balled out (IMO, as early as his true freshman year) then you'd have everybody on here pissed at Miles, Wilson, etc for not getting this guy.
Sure we have more pressing needs like OT, DE, and OLB, but you stay on this guy no matter what!

We were late to offering them and Donte didn't really have a strong LSU connection until the last few months. Dillon's situation was because we wanted him on defense. We could have easily had Dillon earlier in the process if we were open to him playing offense sooner. Donte was a guy who kind if blew up quickly because of his camp circuit. That's mostly due to Riverdale not having any recent d1 talent that I can think of. Georgia and Florida got a jump on them.
We certainly weren't late in analyzing them and knowing who they were, but we were late in recruiting them heavily like the top 10 type state prospects they are.
