You can add Jack Stokes 2029 as not making it.

After the combine performance, it’s less than 5%

It’s all about projectability. When MLB teams see a high school aged kid built like a damn tank and hitting elite level EVs, they’re going by to be salivating and I’m sure someone is going to pay him. I think it’s truly hard to gauge baseball NIL because nobody talks about it as openly as they do with football, but it’s probably somewhat difficult for baseball to fork out the 750k+ it would take to get that kid to campus.

He’d make more playing for an SEC team in college than he would the minors. He might as well play college ball.

He's 15 and built like a starting line backer in the SEC

We had a 5 star EDGE in our last class who was 6'4 240

He will sign for more than he'd make in 4 years of playing in the SEC.

I totally agree....and thinking way back to my teen years, I personally would have wanted the college experience. Not saying that as a Homer, it's a sincere statement. Today you get paid, and bar a tragic injury the pros still await. It would be hard for me to stomach the farm system of major league baseball.

1B is devalued in the modern draft

Prep 1B even more so.

I’d say far from a sure thing, unless he’s dead set on being a pro.

Pretty sure he played CF all season in high school and will project to play corner outfield. He’s not making it to campus

When will he be drafted? What will his signing bonus be?

You’re the one making confident declarations, not me bubba

Much better prospects make it to campuses every year across the country. Did he say something to hint his intentions? Tell me what I’m missing

Sometimes it’s better to remain silent and thought of as a fool than to open your mouth “or keyboard” in this case and remove all doubt. You have some of the all time worst takes on this board and your opinion really doesn’t matter to anyone.

See, this is the prime example of why I dont make "absolute" predictions. Sometimes, things don't play out as they're expected to.
