Does Kiffin traditionally use more than one main back?

As far as how many we need? Obviously we need at least 4 decent backs in the room due to possible injuries. Looking at this years stats Lacy and Chambliss got basically all the carries. Only 2 other rbs got around 25 carries for the year which is only 2 carries a game on average. Is this just because Lacy was so much better than others? Were there other years where he had a 1-2 punch that split equally. Just wondering because if Lacy decides to transfer and follow Lane then Durham would possibly look to transfer as odd man out leaving us with 2 rbs with Lacy and Berry

Keep Durham/Berry

Tamper Duke/Ole Miss RB and profit. Throw the bag at both. Good luck stopping those 4 if LSU gets an OL.

Don’t see anyway we would get both Duke Rb and Ole Miss rb as they both would want majority of carries. Also in a world where that happens. No way Durham stays

Eh, they could be convinced. Maybe not 4 RBs but I definitely could see 3 of those guys feasting. Wouldn't be shocking to see all 4 feast in Kiffin's offense. He will mold his scheme around his best players he always does. He has no problem calling 10 runs in a row if he sees it wearing on a defense. If they're looking at longevity and production it's in their best interest to share the load while still having high impact. RBs are a dime a dozen in the NFL.

He is run first, so he will use 2 if he has them. His system has to have a good rb, an accurate short yard passer, and probably most important is a QB that can run. He also loves a receiving TE that can create mismatches when being guarded by a l.b.

Off the top of my head

Jerion Ealy and Snoop Conner
Zach Evans and Judkins
Judkins and Bentley

A combo of bigger back with slashers. This year Kiffin and Kevin Smith have pretty much used Lacy exclusively

Judkins and Evans combined for 2500 yards and 25 TDs a few years back.

Lacy and Berry
Frank and Caden to Ole Miss (predictions)

Typically uses 2, alot. This year he leaned really heavily on rb1, and his qb has like 110 carries. I'm sure hed prefer qb has half of that, and 2 horses at rb

“Feasting” would be going for 800+ yards for Durham and Berry, each. “Feasting” for Lacy would be repeating last year for over 1k. That’s not happening with all 3 getting carries. If you get Lacy, you could probably retain 1 guy of the guys from last year, then you fill the rest of the room with guys who are ok with being back ups.

No clue what the perception would be with Sheppard, considering he’s not yet completely established. But, you also expect him to want to be sold on a bell cow role, not a competition.

If CLK has a stud, he uses him and frick any “rotation.”

Lacy had over 250 carries this season.

Now can you understand why Kiffin does not want Frank Wilson on his staff?

Lacy would rumble for 25 yards on the first play of the game and then Wilson would sit him for the rest of the half.

Would imagine he’s moving Berry all over the place so plenty of touches available for two more studs.

Kiffin will feed the hot hand.

Durham and Berry are grade A backs running in a piss poor offense with no blocking and complete predictability.

Lacy is a grade A back running in a proper modern rushing attack with blocking and unpredictability.

I think so too... a 1:2 punch of Lacy/Berry could be explosive

we do need depth though. maybe their is a decent FCS back out there who doesn't mind being RB #3 or go after the kid who just signed with Michigan.
