Just as much as Shepard and Davenport regret their decisions.

NCs are great but they arent everything.

I can gaurantee you most athletes would rather play a lot and have a successful career with no NCs than to sign with a team that wins a NC but ride the pine the entire time.

True...but there would be about 100,000 threads questioning why Miles and co. can't figure out a way to find a role for a guy who is clearly the best athlete on the team.

Why do people think because a player picks a team that's not as good as your favorite team he made a mistake? There is more to the college expirience than playing for the better team, even for a player with NFL aspirirations.

Do you think Kevin Faulk regretted his decision to go to LSU over FSU? From interviews with him it does not sound like it, but according to most of you he should have since FSU was far more successful than LSU over his 4 years.

in the examples we are talking about its not just the better team but the distinct possibility that the coaching staff will not be around for the entire 4-5 years. uncertainty.

Fair enough, but that could happen anywhere if the coach changes jobs. Assistants change jobs frequently, that can be expected. Chiz getting canned 2 years after a NC though is not something you'd expect.

ETA: the new coach could also be an upgrade. I doubt many LSU guys that signed with DiNardo and ended with Saban have big regrets.

Yes, because that's the only way that Torshiro Davis showed poor judgement.

With Auburn in such a tailspin I would think they are second guessing themselves. We could have used both of these guys.

Proving to be costly for LSU. Both would be used today as LT and WR.

Robinson has been thrown in with little development. Reed has even less of a QB and offensive system to work with plus injuries.

Both will be on their third offensive coordinator and second head coach in two to three years. Sucks for them.

Shep should absolutely question his choice. Rueben, not so much.
