how many "hidden gems" has les really found? honest question
it's the same as the OL recruiting mastery i always hear about
I am about to go through his classes and see if there are any....what year do we want to contribute to Les? I'm thinking his first full year as coach so we can give him the benefit of the doubt.
I am just as interested here as you are.

Bennie Logan didn't have a profile this time last year, and he certainly would have been worthy of an offer. We shall see...
We had at least heard of Logan.
Logan also wasn't worth the offer until he grew and put on 30-40 lbs. He didn't get an offer right away.

Hey every team needs a few of those guys. The media loves this type in close games at home. I will always love how Les caters to the media.

Ironically, our best towel-waver is a five-star cornerback.

at this level, you shouldn't be looking for "hidden gems", that should be left for smaller schools
but I was really just saying what Bad Cat will undoubtedly say when he sees everyone questioning the pick up.

They don't like to admit they were wrong

I saw not one post about him (Mathieu) until he committed, and if there had not been a youtube video, most people would have been saying the same about him. Then all of the sudden he gets rated by Rivals, turns out to be a 4*, and everyone thinks the staff is just great. Fast forward less than a day, and suddenly the staff doesn't know what they're doing.

its hard to peg a hidden gem when all you mostly get are high 3 star, 4 star and 5 star guys

I had never heard of Logan until late July, and Rivals certainly didn't bc that was the first article they ran on him.
He didn't get an offer right away, but that doesn't mean he wasn't worthy of one then.
I have no idea what to think, I'm just throwing some hopefully plausible theories out there.

Let's think about this. Miles and the staff see exactly what we see in that they are running out of spots. This guy lives in the middle of nowhere and so nobody knows about him. He must be a complete stud to get offered now. I couldn't be happier. There is no way the staff would offer a guy like this with so few spots left if he wasn't a beast. LOGIC
I agree 100% superman locked in a basement is still superman...If you happen to walk in and see him you'll take it in a second

but the anti-star gazers don't care about that shite

I seriously hope LSU evaluated this guy outside of just one camp. You know, we could be seeing a good athlete in shorts but is shite on the football field. Logan didn't receive a offer because he kinda came out of nowhere too. So LSU waited until he added more bulk and evaluated his senior season more. This...is a bit earlier. But if they were evaluating him before camp, we would've heard something by now.
