Yea man, last year, we were pretty weak in the NIL, business, so we lost at least 5 blue chippers, that we normally sign...Fast action by actually MANY LSU figurehead, wasted no time, legally seeing how far we can push, now. I think the last 45 days or so .[ post La. Legislation passing ] shows they are figuring it out pretty darn good.. And take this how you want, but we more LEGAL RECRUITING NOW, then any other time in probably last 100 years...LOL..Just think what I said, of course can't expound anymore...

Yeah. That's who I thought he was thinking about, but the posts he was responding to were about Denver Harris and I never heard anything like that about his mom.

She wasn’t a major factor until the cash was just too much to turn down

Queue the Josh Pate rant about kids being promised a ton of money by out-of-state schools that would typically finish 3rd or 4th and the kids committing to those schools for pure financial reasons. Then again, that doesnt backfire if the deals are good, but if the deals came heavy with incentives unbeknownst to the kids then its going to be trouble when transfer time comes.

But, you’ve got it all wrong. 8-4 has a rich history of putting dominant dbs in the league.

Wasn't their entire NIL setup based on merch sales? wouldnt be shocked to see some promises not fall through there.

Hypothetically, couldn't a kid get an NIL deal like this then have a booster or someone buy out all the merchandise said player is attached to? I'm sure that's a violation somehow

Yeah i think that was their plan but now that they are under the NCAA microscope maybe things have changed

I think Jimbo just did the old fashioned drop bags of cash with some official looking document to make it seem like a legit NIL deal with maybe some expectations from the donors so they ensure they get some sort of return on the bags of cash promised. He even went on the radio and said it was something all schools had always done (speaking of NIL) and then said "now we can just talk about it out loud now". Sort of hinting that they didn't do an NIL exactly as written...because NIL was not what other schools did before.

I dont see how you look at their 2022 class with the insane amount of top players they signed and don't see something amiss.
They signed 4 of the top 5 d-linemen and 5 of the top 10 by 247 ratings, and 8 of the top 25 players oveall in the country.

They were pulling people from Georgia, LSU, AND Bama, and not just good prospects, but the best prospects in their states at positions of serious need.
You have to think of it from an auction standpoint. Imagine if you were doing a fantasy football auction draft and one guy from your league outbid everyone for the top 4 players in the league and got all 4 (lets just imagine they can keep bidding). Wouldn't at some point that guy run out of money, even IF he had more than the others? Because for every guy Bama, Georgia, or LSU didnt get, they get to hold on to that money and bid for the next guy likely raising the price out of range for the guy who blew all his money on the top guys.
I know A&M has plenty of money, but unless they're just insane, I don't see A&M donors paying outrageously above the market value of these kids, or did they decide to just go all-in for this one class?
To think they got that many of the top guys. Not even mid 2000s USC could imagine such a streak as that and they were all over TV media and winning a lot of games and trophies.
I think its a simple matter of Jimbo and his recruiters promising big money that was never going to get handed out. Sure A&M can hand out money just as good as any other schools but thats been true for the last 50 years. When you say youre going to hand out the most, then these recruits want that return and you better pay it out or suffer the consequences of a tarnished reputation as a school that screws with players and manipulates them to get them on campus under false pretenses.

So could either of these players transfer out this early and if they decided to, how would that work/when would they be eligible for their new team?

A&M’s class was landed with straight cash homey, not NIL deals

None of them are grad transfers, so they won’t be eligible until next year. They missed the May 1st cutoff (or the earlier transferring within the SEC cutoff)

Jeebus, that Twitter video of him going 1/4 speed and bumping into someone is sad if you pair it with the comment from the poster

Right, they could play in 2023 as redshirt freshmen (4 to play 4).
However they would need to keep their grades up if they attend classes in the next week or two.
Otherwise they could screw themsevles over like Deion Smith did. Smith wanted to attend Ole Miss but had to go JUCO.
I suspect Koy Moore also had some work to do which is why he didn’t transfer to Auburn until after the spring semester even though we knew he wasn’t going to come back here.

Who cares he’s the best CB in the building regardless and has 3-4 years left. Respect my post.

LSU needs to be tacktical in their approach if he is interested in transferring. It may seem tacky on Harris's part to leave so soon, but with the right tacktics it could prove to be a great move for Harris and LSU and the attackting defense Kelly wants to develop.
