Number 8 -- Maybe all those saying to fire him because he can't recruit should slow their roll.

(I know this isn't exactly indicative of his talent, but still)

247 has both Busch and Johnson as his recruiters.

I read an article exclusively about how Busch recruits that area, so I figured he had more influence here. Maybe Johnson is getting more credit since it's his position, idk.

quote:

And with Busch on staff, LSU’s done just that, suddenly jumping into the picture with Utah’s No. 1 overall prospect Siaki Ika (who the Tigers ultimately signed) as well as a number of 2020 prospects in California, which included an early commitment from five-star and No. 1 cornerback Elias Ricks. With experience from coast-to-coast, where does Busch see his biggest recruiting hotbeds as moving forward? “My thing is that I am more of a Western guy,” he said. “At the same time, my last couple years where I was at, it allowed me to be in New Jersey and New York City, so it gave me some connections up there. Obviously our main blueprint is in the South. When you start talking Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, that blueprint fits the SEC. That’s what we are always going to base it out of.

quote:

“But you always get a chance to go out and get someone who is unique, kind of like we did with Siaki from Utah, and he came to a game, and that’s probably what was the difference in his recruiting process. There were all the good things, but being at a game was a different thing.”

quote:

For Ika, the win over Georgia was the tipping point. What followed was an all-out push from LSU’s staff, which included an in-home visit from Busch, head coach Ed Orgeron, defensive coordinator Dave Aranda and defensive line coach Dennis Johnson during the first week the open contact period began in December. That set the tone for the month, and multiple more visits by Busch to Ika’s home in Salt Lake City proved to be enough to hold off a push from staffs at Oregon, Florida, Utah and more. “It was kind of fun,” Busch said of seeing Ika’s announcement come through for the Tigers. “We had the whole staff watching on the phone. Obviously, I had a lot of contact with him and stuff. I felt good, but surely wasn’t like ‘Oh I can just chill’ kind of deal. When he grabbed the LSU hat, that was an exciting time for all of us right there. Mainly not because he was highly recruited, but we know what a great young man he was, what a great player he is and what a great family he’s coming from. You are getting someone who is a great student and has no issues off the field. A great family. And the film, it adds up to a chance to be really successful.” 11 COMMENTS With Ika not only signed, but also an early-enrollee, Busch said the focus turns to reeling in more prospects from out West to join Ricks in the 2020 class. It’s unusual to see the Tigers hitting the West Coast with regularity, but Busch has faith that will change in the next cycle.

Coach O and meatball together have missed the highest rated DL prospect twice in the past three years. Also both times they had no legitimate backup plan.

They list him as the primary recruiter on four, Brooks, Palmer, Evans and Fonua. He was the secondary recruiter on five, Ika, Parker, Jones, McClendon and York.

They all did... $100k, $75k, $150k. I'll let you connect the dots as to who got what. Also, that's not including the other little perks they'll receive along the way.

(I'm sure this post will get whacked, too)

I’m sure he was heavily involved in recruiting York which definitely validates the rest of his list.

So they’re all going to make essentially the same as Meatball this year?

Well for fricks sake someone make sure they declare that shite on their taxes as income, if they don't send the state auditors to their door.

If they do... have the "resistance" in the revenue office, following the above audit, "leak" that shite to big market media and NCAA.

ETA: even if not true, frick it... audit them yearly the entire time Soppy is a student at Sister fricker U. I get audited plenty and I'm a loyal arse fan.
