Wide receiver DeAngelo Benton will also be enrolling at LSU in January or June,
I've heard this before. I hope it actually happens. He's a beast.

I agree.

talent wise he is not better than rueben. he got to play wr his senior year, rueben did not. ruebens juniors stats were just as good as bentons sr stats. i will say benton is the best blocking wr i have ever seen. he can go up and get the ball and has a great stiff arm. hes not really gonna juke you out of your shoes though. one comparison i remember between the two is both got a chance to go one on one with the very good cb from neville ted holley. holley shut down benton and that was bentons sr year. rueben destroyed holley and it was ruebens jr year. not really that important though.

What is your opinion of DeAngelo's conditioning since he has been gone for so long?
Has he been working out a lot?
Has he been catching/recieving a lot of balls back home?

How can you even make a comparison when Randle played QB pretty much exclusively his senior year?
because he played WR before that?

Imagine the two of them on the field together. Then, put Dubose in the slot and Shep at QB. Maybe Ridley or Ford at RB. This equals unstoppable offense.

i would be happy if benton enrolls. so happy it would be ok if we didnt get randle.

You are correct...Benton did look better, which is why I said he's the best WR I've ever seen in high school, and I've seen many, including Randle. He does it all, which puts him as the best in my book.

You're comparing Randle's junior year to Benton's senior year.

Yep, thats what he did... from what was seen, Benton was better, and there has been no evidence to contradict that

Benton is damn strong. And he will only get bigger by the time his eligibility here is done. Going to be very hard to put a corner on a guy like this due to his physicality.

Okay, then it's not a fair comparison.

fair or not... Benton was better that Randle the last time they each played the position.

I saw him play once. Very big and strong. Very physical. Good but not great speed. Very good hands. Blocks well and likes contact. Great vertical and can climb the ladder and pull balls down out of the air. Kind of reminds me of Plaxico Burress (the good and the bad). With his size and strength, I don't see many DBs outplaying him for jump balls. Fades to the corner of the endzone? Fuhgeddabout it! Touchdown!

joechristopher i watched both of them play almost every game of their careers and i have to disagree. comparing the two this is how i see it
benton is the better blocker, maybe a little more polished since he has played the position more, benton may work a little harder too, on the field that is and is probably a little tougher.
rueben is better once the ball is in his hands, lateral movement, ect. his 40 time is better, can score from anywhere on the field and beat you at multiple positions, punt return, qb, ect.
i say its a draw on jump balls and acrobatic catches, both are great in that department.
i dont see how anyone can argue those statements, not only that what would you think if you got to see rueben catching passes from mackey as a senior like benton did? ruebens junior year numbers were better than bentons junior numbers and as good as bentons senior numbers and keep in mind rueben didnt have another 6'4 reciever to take the pressure off of him. you cant go wrong with either one.

another reason why Randle won't sting as much. Add in Kelly and Debose and then
