How can auburn, with no coach, flip a recruit?

Auburn is 5-6 and has no coach, and they're outbidding us for recruits...?

Reading the tea leaves as stated in the thread it’s NIL. Auburn has a ton of NIL money. One of the top collective in the SEC. Now with Kiffin auburn bound on the horizon they are willing to pay some of the elite recruits. It’s just the age we live in now. Only gonna get more crazy towards signing day.

For most of these kids getting the bag, this is their one big chance to make a large sum of money.

Most aren’t going to the league or even going to sniff the NFL, so we can hate all we want, but I can’t fully blame those kids for maximizing their current earning potential, given the uncertain nature of their future.

What’s the story here?

It’s easy for a kid to say he’s leaving home and his family.

It’s a lot harder to actually do it when it’s time to leave.

It’s hard to get out of state kids it always has been. It’s a lot harder now when schools are legally throwing bags of money at them.

Agreed. At the risk of sounding like sour grapes, if a kid is all about the money then I’m ok saying bye and finding a suitable replacement who has more investment in the program. Kids who are talented and are really committed to LSU for reasons beyond a pay day

I’ll gladly support teams like this years all the time.

That’s very logical brother, agree on that. Some might have an awareness that they likely will not make the league, finish out their degree and get paid more in the process, although being a 4 and 5 star recruit, I’d imagine you’re generally striving for that success.

What’s with these illogical downvotes your last statement is getting?

The only problem with the assumption that it’s about NIL is how do you explain the remaining prospects we are projected to land ? Is it that we are just choosing to spend more on certain players? Are the other schools with lower rated classes just going all in on a few kids?

Doesn’t make sense to say we don’t have the funds yet our class is superior to the competition mentioned in this thread

Typically that's sentiment coming from me.

However we have an early signing period coming up then Feb and I'm willing to wait and see what happens - he deserves that in this first cycle.
