did you even read that guy's comment? When he says the players aren't getting generational wealth, he's talking about NIL money, not NFL money.
Uh yeah I did. He said guys at Oregon won’t be getting generational wealth but guys from LSU will. I then named a QB who got developed at Oregon into the 12th pick of the draft, which earned him the generation wealth that he was referring to. LSU isn’t the only school that can develop guys into high draft picks.

Massively overrated. Oregon wouldn't even feel bad about calling him and telling him to kick rocks if Underwood flipped. He can go play at Fresno State.

romise I will not watch football anymore if this happens. It’ll be ruined. I will become a baseball only guy.
Why is this your tipping point? This happens all the time and we up the ante with players committed elsewhere daily? Do you only threaten to eject when we’re the victim? Do you think you’re quitting is going to change the system (hint: it’s not and ratings will continue to rise)?

I’d be shocked if they didn’t

It’s sarcasm brother. He’s still going to watch don’t worry

I’m not reading all the responses but LSU needs to keep this guy. Pay him

This thread is a doozy.
"They are gonna lose popularity. It may as well be pro sports".
The NFL is vastly more popular than college football. They'd only lose fairweather fans who aren't football fans anyway. Just alumni.
"You have to have fairness". "Start a model like the pros".
You really think pro sports are rooted in fairness? There's a reason franchises are categorized by media markets. Big, mid, small. Big markets have an advantage even with a cap. You think the Pirates see fairness when comparing payroll to the Yankees and Dodgers? In the NFL, do large markets tend to trend with the high profile free agents and have their owners voice made louder? Generally.
"Generational wealth".
A million bucks isn't generational wealth anymore. The IRS is getting half off the top.
"Nike is buying players". "We must boycott them".
Phil Knight is buying players. Along with other rich people with ties to Nike, Silicon Valley and Oregon. ON3 is this boards recruiting site of the moment. Know the owner? He's a big Bama fan, booster and filthy rich. Wheres the boycott? We've accused every site he's started and owned of the Bama bump but keep on paying him $10 a month. Where does that land on the scale of fairness? Or is it hypocrisy?
"Oregon is paying families".
I seem to remember Vadal Alexanders dad having $ funneled to him through a children's hospital. PP7 had his family moved on our dime. Will Wade was making "strong arse offers" before NIL.. Quite the glass house we live in. Better stop throwing those stones.

Auburn developed that dude. You gotta be trolling or something. Really comparing lsu and Oregon in terms of putting dudes in the league?

Every team with a significant NIL budget has made a big NIL push for Underwood. I'll never use the word "Lock" for a recruit, but Underwood is only going to be playing for LSU next year.
The only way possible is if someone would hire Sloan away, because I do think Underwood believes noone else can prepare him for the NFL better than Sloan. Luckily Sloan isn't going anywhere.

So the decision comes down to committing to them and creating generational wealth for your entire family or going somewhere else and only getting it for yourself.
I can tell you that the money given to them and their family will not create generational wealth. That will short term be pissed away following around their kid for 3-4 years and then the cycle continues if they’re good enough to make it to the NFL.

I’m not one to melt over recruits de-committing or transferring.
But if Underwood were to go to Oregon, I admit I will be a bit melty.

I hate where college football is right now,
So you’ve also hated where college football has been for the last 50 years then right? Because it’s 100% EXACTLY the same game it’s just in the open now.
This idea that NIL just “opened the floodgates” for the highest bidder is completely ignorant. It was happening LONG before NIL was a thing. Now they just have to pay taxes on it like the rest of us.

No it’s not.
Bribing kids with a challenger and making 1.3 million dollar offers aren’t the same.
Rich boosters handing kids a bag of cash on the side and begging fanbases to buy players isn’t the same.

Well Nike uses slave labor to make their products anyway. Why anyone buys their crap blows my mind. As usual to many people have their head in the sand.

Nothing is certain, but I'd be shocked. He reps LSU and comes to Baton Rouge quite often. He also pulled out an LSU jersey with his name on it when he committed. Think he sticks.

Are we surprised that programs loaded with cash are throwing tons of it at the best player in the class? Not a real hot take there.
