5* DT out of Belaire Texas. Same class as Tyler Shelvin.

He said he went down to the wire and didn’t not pick Florida State until the night before signing day in 2017.

He told me he regrets it and should have went to LSU bc he would have a Ring,

Regret will kill ya. So will poverty. What's ol' Marv up to these days?

Bounced around on a few practice squads and played in the AFL in 2024. He’s 26 , looks great, not an ounce of fat on him.

He looks like a NFL OT

That’s not the truth Marvin and his small circle all knew where he was going! I know this because my step daughter was a really close friend and she already had her FSU shirt for signing day

Idk I literally met him in person last night in College Station.

This is straight from his mouth that it came down to the night before.

Water under the bridge now.

I get it, but he probably oversimplified things and stretched the truth a little to be nice. Don’t doubt he wished he went to LSU, but FSU bought him and that’s what influenced the final decision.

Josh Newberg was a FSU writer at the time and tripling down on him going to FSU. He knew the deal in place

Why would someone lie and say they should've went to the school you're a fan of? Like it will make your day or something? Lol, we won a natty without him. Thats ridiculous.

Maybe because the guy specifically mentioned he’s a LSU fan, and Marvin complimented LSU, because he knows he’s talking to a LSU fan? Do you know how small talk works?

I also said I don’t doubt he wishes he went to LSU, considering his career didn’t turn out how he wanted it to. He definitely liked LSU as well, but again, it was more than just waking up and deciding FSU was in his heart. The dude was bought.

Man I remember waiting all day and watching his commitment on the ESPN signing day show like it was yesterday. Thought for sure he was coming to LSU. Then he pulled out FSU gear out of a bag.

I don’t think he had a bad college career, but doesn’t seem like he lived up to the 5* billing.

Still can’t believe we missed on him. Oddly enough, the dude will most likely move to Marksville, La after he retires. Spends a bunch of his offseason there and called it his favorite place on earth. Only person to ever say those words

I don’t know but what I do know is that her custom jersey didn’t come in overnight! Marvin was at our house every weekend so when she said 3 weeks before his announcement that she knew but couldn’t say I believe her

Iirc, Oliver went to Houston because of his brother.

I think that and his mom still being in Houston. Im pretty sure his brother was pro lsu on social media, which made most thing he would still pick us. His dad is from marksville, which is the central La connection.
