Could someone enlighten me on how MS State is recruiting so well?

I don't follow recruiting nearly as much as most of y'all, but looking around it seems like MS State is in a great position with several big time recruits we're in on (most notably Nakobe Dean & Emery) and is currently ranked 15th. After losing Mullen it would seem the program would be poised for a down year recruiting. Am I completely missing something?

MSU has had a lot of recent success which has given it a lot of attraction to athletes and the new coach is a much better recruiter than Mullen.
Plus MSU is investing more into the program and are upgrading a variety of facilities
As another poster stated, Ole Miss's problems definitely help aid them in recruiting for sure

Also ole miss is on probation, and they hired a moron as a coach.

Yeah. Mullen's not impressing at UF on the recruiting trail thus far. But he makes up for a lot of that with coaching.

Taking advantage of a great year in-state and Ole Miss being on probation. They're not in great position with Dean though.

Everyone always talks about how hard it is to get anyone out of Mississippi. Considering Ole Miss is on probation, makes sense Mississippi State would be doing well.

This isn’t the board to compare resumes, but you should definitely start a thread about it on the MSB so it can’t be discussed objectively.
