How you know they haven't? Maybe they are already vetting DL in the transfer portal? Did you know much about Alexander or Burrow January of last year?
Certainly they could be (and probably are) looking at the transfer portal. Every team is. But relying on that year after year is not a sustainable method of filling out your roster.
1. The number GRAD transfers is smaller than the number of overall transfers. Thus, the odds of you finding and, more importantly, signing a grad transfer are smaller.
2. If a guy is a grad transfer, that means he's been in school long enough to graduate (at least 3 years) and most of the time is transferring because his current school has judged him to be not good enough to play a significant role.
3. The sometimes exception to #2 is with QB's simply because of the nature of their position. With other positions, such as DL, you can put several good players on the field. But with QB's you are more apt to have a Burrow situation where a really, really good player rarely sees the field simply because the guy ahead of him is even better.
I don't think ANYONE at LSU would say they were ok with having one year of Alexander over 3-4 years of Surtain. Yes, Alexander helped with depth and was serviceable. But you don't sustain great teams with average one year rentals.
Burrow was a windfall of the today's nature of the QB position where the transfer market is very much a solid means to get good players (see Oklahoma).
Point being, you're more likely to recruit and sign a dominant DL player out of HS than find one on the transfer market. So saying "its ok" that you missed in recruiting is somewhat short-sighted

I know for a fact that 5 days ago, LSU received information from Sopsher that he was coming to LSU. I know people are mad at voltiger, but I can assure you that all indications were that he was coming to LSU. Basically the kid played us.
This happens every single year. It's like Lucy with the football and Charlie Brown. Over and over again.
I never thought Sopsher was coming here. I had zero insider knowledge, but what little I read looked exactly like the pattern every year when it becomes an LSU-Alabama battle. We won with Fournette and who else? When it seems up in the air and they are giving hints its LSU, that usually means they're doing Alabama's bidding and trying to string us along. It very much seems like a set up to mess with the rest of our recruiting class.
Why are we so gullible?

That changes in a flash when we get the best recruits like we have in the past. May not be very recent but we can point to Brockers with LA and soon to be Lawrence. Big ED when healthy has potential. Shelvin can get there if he wants it badly. Glenn Logan will do well in NFL. Bama has more recent skins on the wall but so what? That changes when the most talented recruits land in BR. Cart before horse, egg before chicken. LSU has put so many players in NFL regardless of position. Revamp DL recruiting.. it can be done. But then just be negative about it if you like and call it realism because it makes somebody feel better about themselves. I mean that is the Negatiger rantarded way right?

I think he has incredible potential, but in all likelihood he’s another Tyler shelvin.
Do you understand that Tyler was injured and that's why he gained so much weight. Tyler showed a lot of progress from the beginning to the end of last season.

I understand, but he needs to lose a ton of weight or he’ll get injured again.

Well I do agree with you that Tyler does need to lose more weight. If it look like Tyler took off plays last year it was probably because he was winded not because of lack of effort.
The good news is things with Tyler appear to be going in the right direction.

Every single year, they're all "coming to LSU" right until signing day...then they have a "come to Jesus" and somehow sign with Bama on signing day.

This was the biggest problem with shelvin last year. Teams would go hurry up when he was on the field. They knew he couldn’t keep up. He has a motor, and is a physical freak... just needs to lose that weight.

LSU's timing was off and pulled the final wildcard too late. Should have been pulled months ago.
You idiots are worse than the Q believers.
Lokk jackass...simply needing a "wildcard" means the kid really doesnt want to be here. Do you get that? Does it resonate with your thick skull?
