The thing I can’t figure out is how does it benefit him to reclassify? At the end of the day what is the point to being a freshman in college at 16 years of age?
During your late teen years, do you want to be developed by HS coaches or college coaches?

The 247 ranking guy basically said they dropped him because he's not very athletic, he's having accuracy issues (MaxPreps has him as 54% on the season), they aren't sure he'll grow beyond 6' and there is limited success by QBs who have reclassified, especially one who is really young already.

I'm not sure why this kid is in a hurry to get to college.

I'd want a normal high school experience and not be the Doogie Howser of football. Most elite recruits are old for their grade and even they have to mature more into their body when they get to college. This kid is going to be super young. Makes zero sense.

How does it not make sense? He gets to learn under BK and LSU's older QBs. He gets to work out in the strength program with some of the greatest strength trainers in the NCAA. And he can redshirt his first year. He can be a RS Jr at 19 and have two years to make his case to start. And then if he makes the NFL he'll be 20-21 giving him more earning years.

And because he’s so young, he won’t have the intense pressure to start immediately.

So they just noticed that when he reclassified? Seems like bullshite.

They better tell Ryan Day and Nick Saban bc they were all over him.

You gotta hope he stays 5…not many out there starting in the sec as an 18 year old besides the freaks like Harold Perkins

I mean…he is a sophomore. He isn’t a finished product but I don’t see how you go from one of the top players in your class to being a scrub because you came out a year early.

Here's how. Stay in the class of 2025. Go to your junior and senior prom. Enroll early in 2025 (when you are about to turn 18) so you have a chance to win the backup spot to Howard. Become a starter in 2026 and have a nice three or four year run depending on your performance and pro prospects. This allows you 4 to 5 years of development under Sloan/BK.

Instead, he's giving up a normal high school to go be a 17 year old freshman, who will sit for at least two seasons behind Howard. And he'll get the same amount of time for development under Sloan/BK, albeit with likely less collegiate action.

I just don't see the benefit and I see lots of social and developmental disadvantages to this move. But, this is a kid who has been told he's special his whole life so he'll do what he wants.

You only worry about the composite ranking and it's impressive at #132 in the nation.

Kids seems older than 15 just by how he carries himself. Must be really good to have offers from LSU and Alabama.

Why do we care?!the kid is dropping dimes! His tape speaks for itself. He’s a 15 year old with a personal trainer and TWO QB coaches. He’s doing everything he can to be a stud and that’s all I need.

Looks like 24/7 has gone way of rivals. It’s pretty typical, you build your brand by being better than the others then once you level up to their level you realize it pays to suck off TOSU and Bama as they are willing to pay in larger numbers. So you slant rankings to them and uncommitted players instead of legit rankings.

Not saying we did or didn't but I'm not a fan of taking kids that early particularly at the most important position in the sport. Kids a talent no doubt but has he peaked or close to it?

The bigger oof is 247 essentially blasting whoever initially ranked and evaluated the kid. Hope whichever guy credited with it is no longer there. Or they are just being their normal hypocritical, amateur selves that is now contradicting their own work and rankings basically rendering them even more useless. The complete turnaround in evaluation should ring alarms to anyone that actually takes these rankings serious and not as a popularity contest with obvious personal and monetary ties
