Coach O at Minden High today with scholarship offer

Grandson told me tonight that Coach O was at Minden High today and offered DT Braxton Jackson a scholarship. He is a senior so it’s toward 2019 class.

I watched this kid play and he’s a beast. No one could block him the last two years.

Might be. All I know is what my grandson told me. And it was in a rush after a basketball game.

Lee’s Scouting Report: “When I saw Braxton Jackson play tight end and at defensive tackle in 2017, I was super impressed. Jackson moves like a linebacker and brings the effort too. He is a big time player.”
Bio: Not often will you see a 6-3, 280 tight end/H-back, but you will occasionally see it with Braxton Jackson who has been used as a leading blocker in certain packages. What is more amazing than seeing Jackson play on the offensive side of the football is what he does on the defensive side of the football. Last season was a dominating year for Jackson,who had 54 tackles, six sacks, a blocked field goal. With those incredible stats while being double teamed often times, Jackson was named 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-Area, All-Parish defensive MVP, and was also a player of the year nominee. The top schools that Jackson is considering are LSU, Georgia, and Texas Tech. When the football season is over, Jackson likes to hit the gym, go out, and watch some drag racing.

He can play. Don’t think the kid attended any camps, but he’s a physical athlete who moves very well. I really like this offer if it’s true.

Heard is pretty well connected but they haven’t had the athletes like they did 10 years ago.

Listed as DT, but he would basically fill in as a SDE. I would love to have a mixture of dlinemen.... get those guys that can explode off the ball and get after QB even from nose tackle spot but also plug holes when needed.

I think they have some up and coming athletes. My grandson will be a freshman next year, he is 13 and 6’2” 230. Played DE for 8th grade and averaged 6.5 tackles for loss per game. He caught the eye of Devin White at a camp last summer and Devin gave him his number. Also grandsons best friend is 6’1” 275 and is one hell of a DT. Just a bull on the line.
I think Heard is going to get things turned around again.
