His comments about Oregon were interesting. Wouldn’t surprise me if he got a little nike money from Phil Knight

Interesting...haven't seen the kid play, but looks like he plays the same position as Lawson, who they just got as well.

It’s funny but it’s true. No doubt we can’t be as shady as last year.

No worries man, you have always brought solid inside info and the circuit connection with our Florida guys seemed like it could sway him our way.

To be honest, would certainly not talk negatively about a recruit never know with 17 or 18 year olds if it got back. Wade and staff definitely lean towards position-less and uber athletic players. But he kind of rubbed me the wrong way, all about him and he truly thinks he is a one and done player, which he absolutely is not. A theme with our program from the coaches to the players we get, everyone has something to prove, do not get that vibe from Walker. I like our chances better with Watford and will stand by that he is LSU come decision time.

I like how close to the belt this was. Most people I heard from thought it was between LSU and Miami.

Damn, I wasn't aware of that from Walker. LSU may have dodged a bullet. I can't say I wasn't disappointed in his decision. It kind of stung because all indications I was hearing was LSU. But, if I had to choose between him and Watford, it's be Watford. Watford is a better all around ball player and is a better player in the post. But, I haven't heard any good news about Watford to LSU. I believe Wade will bring in some good ball players so I'm not as worried about BBall recruits as I am FBall recruits. I hope Quinones does choose LSU, but I'm afraid he is waiting on a call from one of the elite teams. Still, I'm sure Wade will pull in some good ones. I have a very sneaky feeling Oregon was doing a lot of negative recruiting on LSU. Oh well, maybe Na'faly will reclass and be in this class. That dude can really dominate. I heard James Weisman committed to Penny and Memphis. Penny is bringing in a pretty good class this season. Just hope Wade has some more good ones he is looking at.

No ill will towards the guy, his three choices were Jim Laranaga, Dana Altman, and Will Wade, pretty damn good trio to choose from all good and fundamentally demanding head coaches which is what he needs.

Will say this, he is a competitor do not want it to seem like he is a bad teammate or just an athlete. He has NBA athleticism already, and as opposed to even 5 years ago, tweeners are now seen as a plus in position-less basketball. The problem is like tools for baseball prospects, he does not do anything besides that, that is a plus NBA skill right now. Meaning an NBA coaching staff/trainers have to work from the ground up to have his jumper translate, his handles are not NBA level, his defense is not there, and he is about 35 pounds to light. Naz Reid from day one has an NBA jumper that will expand to 3, an NBA frame already, and his handles for a guy his size will be huge against slower stepped big men. NBA team can work on his footwork and defense, and just improve those skills he already has.

I will say this my source is a current player on the team, on Watford the in I refer to that not even Memphis (his AAU coach) or Alabama the instate look have the connection that Bill Armstrong brings. Before Wiseman committed as early as he did to Memphis I only put our chances at landing Trendon at 60% I would put them at 75%. He is extremely mature for his age, he just has to decide what he wants all 3 bring a unique but equally beneficial experience. I know when he comes in they no longer roll out the red carpet because that at this point would turn him off that wont work as opposed to a guy like Walker. He seems like a SO or JR the way he interacts with guys on the team and I just think family wins out.

You mean your source is a player on the LSU team? That makes sense. I mean, those are the guys who'd be more interested and curious as to a recruits mentality and expectations about joining a team. I would. I would want to know what type of person and player the coach is trying to bring in. And yea, I agree, the closer a recruit is to the players on the team the greater the chance he chooses that school. I won't ask who your source on the team is, I think that's better left out of public view. But, whom ever it is, it sounds like your source would really like to play on the same team as Watford. That unity is a big thing. The '86 team had that kind of unity. Anyway, thanks for the info. Plz keep me updated if you hear any more on any other recruits. Oh, BTW, have you heard anything on Quinones?

Yeah we are very close, and agreed. I do not ask him or bother him, I did not ask him about CJ Walker until after it happened, and all he said was the dude was flakey and a clown. AS in a very very immature attitude, he is in for a rude awakening. I think Gumby will attest to this it almost felt like with E. Williams and Blakeney, Walker just kind of strung LSU along simply for interest in his decision. Those are his friends Idk its weird that these guys think thats okay and then realize when they get to college the next group are just as big if not bigger than them and it really shocks them.

Last years class was the class that put us on the map, this next class will be kind of the building block class that ties last years guys that stay with next years class that will be loaded again. I do not think N'Faly Dante reclassifies, reason being I think he would have needed to sign in the early period and transfer in and get started on credit kind of like Hyatt who people forget about.

Here is the thing my impression and I have met him two or 3 times, Trendon is waiting to see how LSU, Alabama, and Memphis all finish. Him and his folks are doing the absolute best possible way to handle something like this. LSU beating Memphis or if Alabama were to beat LSU in any of that will not have any bearing on this decision. I think Wiseman to Memphis is a bigger deal and a plus for LSU that now does not gurantee him a starting spot/starter minutes. If Alabama starts to slide in SEC play and Avery does not do better at developing the bigs it bodes well for the real fighting Tigers. I think most national guys are simply seeing okay he played AAU for Penny, Penny and Memphis are hot right now with the big name targets and commitments, so thats why that is to the poster below you, all I can say is there is family connections with LSU's program, reason is its not my place to divulge how they came to be if I sound vague sorry.

I actually have I posted in the main thread 2019 recruiting thread, I do not think Quinones ends up in this class now. I think they were more than happy signing him early and adding but in my personal opinion the vibe I get is CWW and staff like building real relationships and basically he was a silent commit and backed out of it which rubbed them kinda the wrong way, they are not going to waste time if they have just as good of options. To be quite frank there are 2 other JUCO wings that are being looked at that bring what he does, yes they are only 2 year guys not 4 year guys, but JUCO guys bring a toughness and kind of grittiness this staff loves its what will be our calling card.

Hope that helps, also I am trying to warn people do not sleep on this College of Charleston team they are about as fundamentally sound of a club as you will find in the low mid major types. Grant comes from the Greg Marshall tree and they play almost like a high school team in the most complimentary way possible to say that. It can really make opposing offenses out of sync.

Hope all of this helps.

Also I think Khadim Sy is a lock as well 6-10 C that is a JUCO transfer from Virginia Tech.

Helps a lot Coast, thanks. I didn't know Quinones was a silent commit. But, yea, I can understand the staff wanting to build relationships with recruits. If you have names of these juco guys the staff is looking at I'd really love to see some film. I heard Wade mention what he liked about Bishop was his work ethic and hard play. That type mentality really rubs off on others and makes them raise their level of play. Wade is building a great culture at LSU, work hard, play tough, play smart, stay positive and fight until the game is over. The fact juco's are only 2 years doesn't really matter. I mean if a guy is really good coming out of HS he won't stay but 2 years anyway. Yea, there's the Skylar Mays type that are good players just not quite NBA talent. Not saying Mays won't play in the NBA one day, just takes some guys a little longer to develop into NBA material. I like Sy. He seems to work hard around the rim and he is a very good athlete. But yea, I know what you mean about this class kind of tying in last years class with next years. I've seen on 247 there's quite a few big names really interested in LSU. Anyway, thanks again for the info. I'm really looking forward to hearing more.

Lots of good info gentlemen.

I think Watford is now the make or break guy for this class.

After hearing what Coast said about Watford, I'm really feel good about him going to LSU. I gotta ask Coast, but I saw a guy high-5ing players coming off the floor during a TO that looked like Watford. He was taller than Emmitt and didn't look like Cooper. I thought it was Watford. I think Watford is a little more athletic than Naz, moves a little better, just not quite as big. He could step in and fill that role perfectly.
