Agree. Also nice to see teh board is notin full melt down over this. Of course if Palmer ahd not committed and Lee was not on the verge of doing so this would probably be a 10 page melt sprread by now.

Not a good trend, when you consider the example the junior nose tackle is seeing. He's arguably the biggest get and if he's seeing how his teammates are leaving, and it's not over, he won't think anything of doing the same.

Is there a backstory for this?

It seems that over the last few years, going to LSU has lost its luster for Uhigh players. Could be because we are getting out recruited, could be that going to HS on LSU's campus makes them want to get away from LSU for college. Either way, its a problem. Need to change that culture.

Did Harris have an offer from us. Which of the U High players committed elsewhere had LSU offers?

It is not just athletes. The other students at U-High are checking out colleges when they are freshmen and sophomores. Many of them are looking out of state as young students. It seems as if it is a trend there. Witnessed the same thing at John Curtis and Jesuit a few years back. They want to see what other colleges have to offer.

I think Harris wasn't a priority now that numbers are very very tight. No disrespect to his talent and I hope he has a great time at ATM, except when they play the Tigers.

Don’t think we were making room for him. Glad he jumped on an opportunity when it arose!

He had an offer, but was more of a back burner option. We are recruiting Dean and another LB who I can’t recall his name harder.

Also just popped today that a recent Ohio State LB commit from Tennessee is one to keep an eye on. If CUM is out at OSU, we may have a shot at landing the young man.

He may have had an offer but I seriously doubt it was a committable offer. Either LSU knew he was serious about going elsewhere or he wasn't at the top of our priority list.

Seriously. Who's in charge of recruiting on LSU's campus? Lol

Correct, he couldn't commit if he tried.

Doesn’t help that UHigh illegally recruits with the best of them, and end up with a ton of studs who have no business being on that team

It's not a U-High issue. LSU has higher ranked players in the fold at his position. Not every LA kid is going to get an offer.
