Collins was one of the most electric running backs I have ever seen, I haven't seen how good LF is, how does LF stack up against collins. I have seen a lot of comparisons with adrian peterson which is amazing but a comparison with the diesel would have me salivating at the prospect of have fournette in purple and gold for the next 2 or 3 years.

Collins was, during his brief sample size, the best LSU rb we've had in the last 20-30+ years I think. The only clips I've seen of LF clearly show he is dominating at the HS level but his shake and his tackle breaking ability don't seem "elite".

That said, please come to LSU and prove me wrong.

Cecil Collins is the greatest high school player i have ever seen live, however I have never been to a St. Aug game to watch LF. Fournette is bigger, faster, and less crazy than the Diesel. I'll take Fournette.

I've never seen cecil play, but I would think LF is better. Was Cecil also the best player in the country?

So I watched a couple of links from this board that seemed to be recognized by others here as the "best" ones but maybe there is something better out there. Happy to check out whatever you and the emoticon response guy recommend though.

Collins was probably the only player I ever remember at LSU that actually proved to be better than the All-American playing in front of him.

College fans have a solid reputation for stating that the back-up is better than the starter...even when the starter is all-world.

Collins actually proved to me, in a small sample size, to be better than both Kevin Faulk (AA) and Rondell Mealey, who was very, very good.

The only other player I have seen in person that was comparable was Bo Jackson.

If LF turns out to be as good as Collins, much less better, then LSU will bring home a second Heisman to BR.

Agree with everything DeltaDoc says - except Bo Jackson is the best I've ever seen without a doubt, no comparisons.

To me there are 3 running backs that set the standard back in the 80"s Bo Jackson, Herschel Walker and Marcus Dupree. Adrian Peterson is the one that compares to those 3. If Cecil Collins had a full 3 years at lsu I believe he could have been in that elite group of backs. Leonard Fournette appears to have the tools to not only be a heisman contender but be one of the all time great backs in lsu and sec history.

I know this is a Cecil Collins vs fournette thread but J. Hill is pretty damn good. His feet are great he has speed maybe not elite but he can get 40 yds easily. He carries his weight very well I would love to see him lower his pads more but he didn't take big shots last year. What I see from Fournette is a big back like Hill with better speed and breaks tackles. He could go 40 or 70 very easily. The little that I have seen from Collins it reminded me of Alley Broussard and he was a very, very good back before the knee injury.
