This is like foreplay.

I am stunned at their efficiency. It's like they're picking flowers.

It looks choreographed. Like BK wanted to start the ball rolling early and then feed off the momentum.

Dude's playing rock, paper, scissors, lizard, spock. Other coaches are playing patty cake.

Portal work is a lot of what Polian does and he does it well…

I’ll get downvoted for this and that’s fine, I’m far from a negative poster.

We’re getting above average transfer talent on the defensive line because we struck out on getting defensive tackles from high school recruiting. It’s a good job plugging roster holes, but it’s being done with talent that isn’t typically high end LSU level.

Everyone knows that. But we need bodies. Even if we signed 3 5 star DTs, we’d still need transfers that are ready to play.

It’s a band aid, yes, but much needed, along with recruiting the high end HS kids

Go look through this list ( LINK) and tell me how far you have to go down the page before you see an interior DL in Louisiana in this class of 2023. Hint: it's a very weak year for HS DTs in Louisiana. The portal was a must here.

Why do they have to come from Louisiana? Lsu is a pretty big brand that can recruit other places so go find them. If they require these recent transfers to fill the void That's not a good recipe.

Yes, but we have guys on roster. It's not like we're going to be sending punters out there to play DT. Now, if we strike out next year, yea, we should panic. I think we'll have just enough for this year, though. Don't forget that we also had a few guys this year that didn't really contribute.

We have an elite talent and a proven all SEC guy as anchors for the DL. People are just melting because it’s basically the off-season and there’s nothing else to do.

I'll paraphrase here: "When you consistently post contrarian views there are instances when you just can't hide the fact that you're a dick."

My Man! DLignment is now deep! Replace Roy with Maason.
Add Lee and Shands to go with Guillory and maybe Langston.
I would also wager that Bowl Season or the Spring brings us one more and if it does the guy will be high-end looking for a bag - and since that's the way the game is played now it's fine and dandy with me.

There are many layers and deep depth to CBK "alignment".

We do fine nationally on guys who are interested, but our bread and butter will always be LA and East TX with several others from the SE. Let’s see how interior DL recruiting goes next year before everyone freaks out.

There’s no reason to be concerned since there’s no cap on this class behind the 85 man roster. We are just replacing depth with these moves, and that’s something we really didn’t have this year.

Also, look at how well this staff did plugging holes via the portal last season. The secondary was completely rebuilt and we got a starter and added depth on the OL. I’m going to trust their evals until they give me a good reason not to.

And when coaches go outside of the state to get players, y’all bitch about that with “but muh Louisiana schools”.

Getting D linemen from out of state isn’t easy for any team especially with NIL deals now. You can have a pretty decent team if the only position you focus on getting top players at is defensive line. Hell, Mississippi State has been proving that for decades now.
