247 is doing a round of updates today. Some moving around is happening but this is the most notable one I have noticed. No doubt the reason our ranking is changing.

LINK

Clemson got all but 3 prospects bumped.

Bama got half of theirs bumped.

Somehow we still are holding onto #1 even with all our guys getting dropped.

Man 111 spots seems big...and from a 4 star to a 3.

They hate LSU conspiracy is probably true.

Yup, so far I have checked the bottom 7 of our recruits and they all dropped at least 40 spots except Josh White who dropped around 20.

ETA:

The only prospect in our list that went up after todays update is Jermaine Burton.

Coincidentally most of Bama's guys got a bump of course.

All but 3 Clemson commits got a bump.

The fact that all of our players dropped is pretty telling.

Might as well just look at 247 and Rivals rankings. ESPN is so far off now it skews the composite.

Think it may be a grades thing? I’m pretty sure I’ve seen before where if they don’t think they’ll qualify their ratings drop.

If there was ever any evidence that would prove the "ESPN hates LSU" narrative, this is it.

Got to sell those subscriptions. That’s all this is about. They will bump certain teams (Bama, ND, Michigan, etc) and lower a team like LSU if that team is beating out some of the more “popular” brands. It’s essentially the WWF where the most popular wrestler always wins.

Guy is going to play OL. Hard to be highly ranked when you haven’t even really played the position.

Sampah commits to LSU today, and immediately loses a point.

Elias Ricks drops 5 spots today... They aren't even playing football right now. This is so ludicrous and apparent.

How do players drop or climb in the off-season? I can understand during their senior year of HS based on performance etc but how can they possibly move up/down right now?

Haynesville is a 1a school, but schedules larger schools as much as they can. To me Jackson is perfect for a 4-3 defensive end. He will more than likely be moved to offense to play Tackle for LSU, which suits him better than a 3-4 Defensive End in my opinion. He has 4 star potential, but we may have to wait a few years for him to develop into an SEC Tackle.
