He said he wants to take another visit to LSU. So how much does that visit make a difference to getting him or have we already lost him
Posted on 5/18/20 at 9:16 pm to Tigerboy55
That visit is everything. We likely don’t land him due to losing Brady but if we can get him on campus it’s a huge positive. Maybe Linehan and the other offensive guys can sway him

Don’t sound like a loss, from that, but probably wants to play in an easier Conference

Tettleton could be a game changer

Could change something a little but most likely Oklahoma bound

I don't really care one way or the other. He a 5 star cool but LSU got Nussmier so I'm good, got one good QB that knows where he wants to go. Good to go : )

Sounds to me he's still genuinely interested he just needs to mingle with the new passing game coordinator and see what his philosophy will be for him.

LSU got the guy they wanted

No effect. He is playing the game to keep his name in the news in order to keep his lofty ranking.

Can Oklahoma hook him up with endorsement deals like Maryland can with Under Armour? Some of you all have no common sense. Its no wonder Vol has to spoon you guys.

I agree. I also love the coach’s son narrative. These guys are usually very intelligent QB’s which makes up about 70% of being a great QB. Example Joe Burrow.. lol

And little Orgeron played at McNeese... lol

He has legit interest.
But with two QBs in the room with Nuss and Johnson he likely goes somewhere with more guaranteed air.
He prob wants to take in an LSU. Maybe LSU Bama?

Well if he is as LEGIT as advertised, it shouldn't matter who's in the QB room. Cream rises to the Top.

If Williams doesn't choose LSU it won't be due to QB competition. He might select OU or Maryland based on his chances of putting up gaudy numbers on trash defenses though.

I don't think the chances are great but the kid and his dad genuinely love Coach O and the program. No Nuss and I believe wed land him but it's hard for me to see him committing here now. Maybe he's just one of those cats that beieves he's gonna win the job regardless.

If it were that simple, he would have committed before Nuss.

I don’t think he will admit it is something on his mind as his handlers have advised him to not show weakness.
He did not grow up in La and has no real ties to LSU. He is going to go where he can get exposure and build a resume for the nFL.
The first step is to get on the field early. If I can go to Oklahoma or somewhere else competitive who has opened room in their classes and believes in me enough to slot me into a starting spot early, why would I go somewhere and compete. It’s not that I don’t think that I am the best. It is because this is a risk/reward analysis. A good risk manager would tell you to take the sure thing in a situation like this. Because going into a crowded QB room and competing with upperclassman is not a guarantee. Ask Tuas little brother, Joe Burrow, among others what can happen to talented kids or highly rated players in a talented QB room. Sometimes it doesn’t not work out and you are left holding the bag.

Well, go and WIN the job.

If that's his mentality then it's best he goes elsewhere, why would you sign other kids to scholarships and tell them to compete?

Tua's little brother is not in the same Universe as Tua is as far as skill set.

Williams would be in a QB room with RS Senior Myles Brennan, the rest would be 2 Sophmores and 1 True Freshmen. Again, if he feels he can't compete against those guys then I wish him well.

If he thinks winning a spot, without competing and winning his spot, he can forget the NFL.
Which Oklahoma QB didn't earn his starting status.
He should be able to come to LSU, compete and hope to win. He will certainly get great coaching, then there is the transfer portal, if he fails to be the starter. That is the facts of playing for a champion.

If Williams goes to OU and beats out Spencer Rattler, you have to think Rattler ends up in the portal. Wasn’t he the #1 QB recruit in his class?
Dude isn’t going to sit behind a freshman.
