Caleb Williams article

“ I haven't wavered. The best place for me is the best place for me no matter who's there. It hasn't really bothered me that Garrett committed to LSU, they're still in the running.”

“ Competition is what makes football so great. Football wouldn't be football without competition. You need that to make you better, I need it to make me better. I love competing, I have this competitive spirit in me and I just don't want to lose. That's why I'm recruiting all of the best players to come with me, come to the college I'm going to so we can compete at a high level and go win big.”

“The players that are already at these schools or just committed doesn't bother me.”

Mature comments.

Getting Garrett on board made a lot of the whiners on here whine thinking that it would eliminate any chances of getting Caleb. His dad has been saying even before Garrett committed that he was not scared of any competition.

I’m sure he is a competitor and isn’t afraid to compete but let’s be honest it’s unlikely he comes here anymore. I wish him the best!!!

Good take

Don't go to your second Choice because you may not win the starting job at your first.

Hell they're probably gonna let people transfer for free before hes done with school

I got feeling from Nussmeiers comments that he may look around if Williams commits

Something like “we’ll cross that bridge if it happens”

With the transfer portal and the likely immediate eligibility rules, not sure why anyone would sign two QBs. The one that doesn't get the job is gone. And if the one you sign turns out to be a dud, you can easily pick up a transfer.

I just think Oklahoma fits his playing style too well.

Would love to have him though

Woudln't you rather take two, have them compete for the job, and have the loser transfer than guess on high schoolers?

Damn. I missed that. At least with the transfer portal they can come in and compete and have the option of moving on if necessary.

Hey & it could mean nothing

But he could have also said he’s ready to compete no matter what.

Oklahoma’s QB room- Rattle #1 QB in class RSFr, Mordecai #9 QB in class RSSoph
LSU Brennan Jr probable starter—- that’s it if Parish leaves— and 2 true freshmen
Competition as of today looks pretty similar, don’t think CW running from competition at either school

Once the new NIL rules go into effect at the first of the year Under Armour will sit down with him and sell him on the financial impact of what it means if he goes to Maryland. Nobody is going to be able to outbid a shoe company that needs this kid. Even if Maryland doesnt get him he isnt coming to LSU. He and Lincoln Riley have an almost daily love fest on Twitter. His comments that were quoted is nothing but public relations put out by the family and have very little merit. You guys constantly say kids lie, but that never gets brought up when it is favorable to LSU.

Cause you can’t without a shadow of doubt know which one will win the job once on campus. There’s a lot more that goes into it then just god given talent. You take both. Let them compete. The loser transfers for the worst case scenario. But don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
