If it worked for Lincoln, why not do the same with Williams.
ETA: And did we offer Williams as a transfer (I don't know what other term to use)? We've been on top of the guys we want in the portal very quick. Days quick, sometimes hours. If we haven't tried to get him to visit or extended anything we aren't pursuing- no matter what he says.

The only reason to do that is to try to affect us with Walker Howard (he did visit USCw after Riley was hired) or trigger a transfer of our QBs.
The only reason to dangle that and put it on the tweeter machine is to impact our QB room negatively- present and future.
Since he's not a recruit, if we aren't pursuing him, Polian or CBK should come out on the tweeter machine and say so to nullify their attempt at sabotaging us.

It would be inconsistent with being a high character program to accept Caleb Williams into the program at this time after you asked Myles to pull his name out of the transfer portal. We need to step up and put character above trying to load the boat else we haven’t progressed at all. We need to show commitment to our guys if we want them to be committed to us.
