Ya but I think the writing is on the wall now with Jimbo after the Tennessee loss

We are in a similar situation with aggie. They have 3 games that could go either way (USCe, @Ole Miss, @LSU). We have (@Bama, UF and Aggie). I don't think our defensive issues are fixed, but hopefully they are fixed enough that we finish strong.

That depends on the source.

Josh Pate said it well on a recent show. ATM knows what they have with Jimbo. There's no mystery left, and there's no more excuses to be made. This is it with Jimbo...a more expensive Sumlin.

So if there goal is to win a championship they know what must be done. It's not a matter of if but when if they are truly set on winning a NC. So the question becomes is another year of jimbo worth a little less buyout in a year? That's the decision that should be being made over there right now.

Pate didn't say this but I would agree with what he said and add that the availability of HCs will probably factor in too. Maybe they think they can pull someone better next year or they have their eye on someone they want to see a litte more of. I'm guessing elko has to be on their short list of interview candidates

Good analysis. Question is, do we want Jimbo fired to poach one recruiting class versus them hiring a good coach?

Honest question what Coaches would be a good option or even possible for Faggies? I know money isn't a factor with them but a coach might nont won't to deal with the bs.

I wouldn't be shocked if Petrino is back stabbing Jimbo as we speak so he can be in the running for HC.

I understand the sentiment but put in perspective.

Number one is time. Jimbo has been there a long time now

Number 2 right or wrong offense is exciting. People give a little more leeway if you are fun to watch. Offense is supposed to be jimbos side of the ball but they tend to be boring.

I keep telling y’all this but you don’t listen. Texas AND A&Ms issue isn’t coaching. It’s their boosters. They want far too much control in game day decisions because they think they ARE QUALIFIED to BE COACHES. It’s ultimately why Saban did not take the Texas job. He was not going to be given the full control he requires.

There is a reason that regardless of coaches and regardless of recruits, the results at both schools have basically been the same for decades now.

Oh I agree. We are building where Jimbo is floundering.

Offensively Jimbo at aggie is Les without the actual results (wins).

A tidbit from SI’s Richard Johnson and Steven Godfrey on their members only Patreon show today- Texas AM boosters have been meeting and the money is secured to fire Fisher. They’re hanging that money over the head of Fisher and with a poor finish, he’s gone.

Apparently the astros-rangers ALCS brought many of them together in recent days.

Lane Train baby!!!

They aren’t poaching a coach from any major program. They might have the money but they don’t have the clout and coaches talk to each other and they know what’s up with those programs.

I knew you were E Texas but didn’t know Tyler. Off topic, but if Tyson Berry was 6in taller, he would be in the SEC, don’t you think?

It’s 100% accurate. I don’t really give a frick if you believe it or not. Those teams problems begins and ends with their big time boosters.

@ArkTiger55 - what part of Texas does your Buddy coach in?

This is partially why LSU boosters have been much more reserved than most schools to start the NIL era. Our boosters have shelled out millions in buyout money, and they wanted to see some on field results before committing money to kids.

This is very reasonable but the paradigm has to shift on this. Spending some money on recruits now means not having to spend A LOT of money on coaching buyouts later especially with Kelly at the helm. I trust Kelly to get a lot of wins and big wins with good talent but he needs the talent and our big boosters can help in that regard.

What kind of game day decisions can boosters make on game day?

I think as bad as their offensive line play has been that he would get canned. It has been a weak point for them the last couple of years. As great as they have been on the defensive line there's going to have to be some casualty and they've been wanting to cut bait with him.

Remember in the preseason when people were hyping Aggie OL as one of the top in the country? L-O-L

This makes sense. They’re not going to go into next year with a lame duck coach in Texas’ first year in the SEC. They’re going to want something exciting and new.
