What are the rules for players being that old and still playing High School football?
Isn't there a cut off and was he held back at some point?
Just wondering what is behind his late graduation.

If I recall correctly, the cut-off date is August 1 in Louisiana. That’s why Keiland Williams didn’t play his senior year in Louisiana.
So if Burch turned 19 in the fall, it wouldn’t be an issue in Louisiana. Obviously I don’t know any rules in South Carolina about their max age.

Do you seriously have no concept as to how many high school seniors are 19?

Baw you ever been to a John Curtis game? Some of those dudes are at least 25

Ridiculous. I turned 18 about 3 weeks before my high school graduation. These fools are are damn near 20 years old at the end of their senior year. Should not be eligible.

I turned 18 in college. I remember starting varsity as a sophomore. My parents should have held me back two years. I would have been dominating as a 19 year old in high school.

Huge difference. Immoral to. Have 19 years playing in HS.

If you are under the age of 21, regardless of marital status, your parent or legal guardian must sign the NLI in order for it to be considered valid. If you are 21 years of age or older, it is not necessary for your parent or legal guardian to sign the document.

September 30th is the cut off. Oct 1st you're ineligible for high school sports. A few years back I had a younger cousin who could only play the first four weeks of the season in September before becoming ineligible.

Isn't Hammond an Independent Private school? Same rules don't apply as public.

Pretty sure that rule is of 18 not 21 with regards to needing a parent to sign an NLOI. Rick N covered it today on Sirius XM

You are dead wrong. Lol
Lots of kids in LA go to T1 (Transitional 1) after Kindergarten. Therefore, they are basically going to First grade twice. Lots of these kids were born in the months of Jan-May. So.... a lot of them turn 19 in the Spring of their Junior year. They are all eligible to play sports their senior year.

Or you can just show up for class doing the fall and play for the school of your choice. That's how Chris Jackson enrolled at LSU without his mother's consent. Not sure if that rule still exist.
