I think the kid is torn between the two personally. If he ends up coming here because of his commitment, I give him major props for keeping his word. Especially knowing he's a lifelong Tiger fan.

Do Bama fans continue to wonder why we dislike Saban so much? If he had never coached at LSU, he wouldn't have any contacts in the state and we would not have a battle for every top Louisiana kid. Bama fans are oh so smug about this and are loving it.
One day, these guys are going to see Saban for the charlatan that he is. If Sentimore doesn't start by his Jr. year, he'll develop a mysterious injury and will leave the team to make room for the next high school stud.
Man, I hate Alabama.
Nick better produde big time this year or a few OOS players are going to be very disappointed.
Lies can only take you so far....

You are assuming he had an offer from LSU.
We are still waiting to hear, and I would guess that this will fall somewhere in the Dexter Pratt Zone.

He has an offer, stop questioning it. He got it this weekend on his visit.

Understand, i'm not jumping to conclusions. The guy honored his commitment. Would you ? If he thinks this is best for him, so be it.

Saban is more interested in opening a pipeline and helping his image than getting DS to play for him.
I think it may be a little bit of both.

If you are a true LSU "life-long" fan, you wouldnt go to the Gumps if both offered.

Yeah I'm done until then too. This weekend I turned my cell phone off every night a 8pm because I had friends that kept "hearing" shite. It was driving me fricking nuts.

Apparently he doesn't think it's best for him. It's what his high school coach and maybe his family thinks is best for him. He wannts to go to LSU and made that apparent a long time ago, and made it once again apparent this weekend.

I would assume he thought he had an offer. The kid has been all LSU the past week. Telling anyone at his high school and everyone at LSU this weekend that he was coming to LSU.
I don't know what has transpired since then. It looks to me that his mom and coach want him to stick to his commitment.

Really ? You wouldn't commit to another team if your team didn't offer ? If you wanted to play and have a chance at the next level and thought this was your best shot, you wouldn't take it ?

now that lsu is begging for him, he feels as if lsu didnt appreciate him and bama has been on him the whole time.
If this is true, that is very naive on his part. My understanding was that LSU was upfront about his grade problem and the fact that there were only so many scholarships. Whether we "wanted" him in this class was never an issue. Saban took a flier on him because Saban is not afraid to oversign and kick people off his team. That doesn't mean Saban/Bama appreciated him more. If anything, quite the opposite.
I will say this. I hope that kid does some real soul-searching in the next few days. If he's truly a life long Tiger fan and spent nights just thinking about purple and gold and running onto the field under the lights of Tiger Stadium and now has that shot...damn, he's going to have some regret in his life if he moves to Tuscaloosa all because of a chip on his shoulder.
I hate to see a kid make a mistake like this.

Making a decision for his future and honoring a commitment seem to be more important to him than his "fanhood". If the guy thinks that this is best for him, I'm all for it and wish him well.

In October Bama pushed hard for him andLSU basically ignored him. So he chose the school he felt best for him. Alabama. He didn't have an offer from LSU until last weekend. He got his offer and wants to come here but his momma is making him stay at bama. It's that simple.

To play devil's advocate, would he have had a scholly offer available to him from LSU if we got a commitment from Campbell or McFarland? If that was his thinking for taking the early Alabama offer instead of waiting on his grades/waiting on LSU, its understandable.
And now he may feel the need to honor that commitment.

No shite, if my "life-long" school wasn't offering me I would sign with the biggest school offering me. In this case that would be Bama. Can't really fault the kid.

Get over it?
I'm not hung up on Alabama or this kid's decision.
I'm just curious as to the confusion. Why so much secrecy about an offer or not?
I like Texas' method of recruiting. The kids that want to play for LSU that don't have these issues are the one's that we want.
I'm sure the staff is doing what is in the best interests of LSU. Miles has a damn strong record in dealing with things, and something tells me there is more to this story, as well as Pratt's. The LSU side is not talking, and if and when they do, I'll be listening.
You all, on the other hand, are full of assumptions.
